The Kia Sportage 2025 you rent from us runs the 2.0-litre petrol engine, not the bigger 2.5, and that one fact decides who this car suits. We deliver it across Dubai in one to two hours with payment settled when it reaches you. What you're getting is a roomy compact SUV with a big boot, a high seating position and current cabin tech, priced and powered for the family that wants space and an easy drive rather than outright muscle. This page settles whether that mix is right for your week, or whether you'd be better sizing up to seven seats or down for the parking.
The 2.0-litre Smartstream makes 156 hp through a smooth automatic, driving the front wheels. Around town that's a relaxed, easy drivetrain: light throttle, effortless parking-lot crawling, more than enough for the school run, mall trips and ordinary errands. It's tuned for calm, and in stop-start Dubai traffic that suits the car well.
Push it on the open road and the character shifts. This is a tall, heavy SUV with a naturally aspirated engine, so it builds speed steadily rather than urgently. Cruising at 120 on the E11 it's quiet and stable, but overtaking takes a bit of planning rather than a stab of the pedal. If you want a Sportage that feels eager when you bury the throttle, that's the 2.5-litre car, not this one. For most renters, the 2.0 does everything a Dubai week asks.

Inside, the Sportage is bigger than the badge suggests. Four adults sit without negotiating knee room, and the back bench is flat enough that three across works for shorter hops, useful when there are kids and a grandparent along. The seating position is high, you get the SUV view over traffic, and the doors open wide so fitting a child seat isn't a wrestling match.
It is five seats, and that's the honest limit. A group of six or seven, or three child seats abreast, is the wrong job for this car, and you'd want a proper seven-seater. For two adults and two or three kids, the Sportage has the room without full-size bulk.
This is where the Sportage earns its place for a family. At 543 litres the cargo area is one of the largest in the compact class, and it swallows real luggage. Two large hard cases plus a couple of soft bags and a stroller go in with the rear seats up, which covers a DXB run for a family of four without anyone holding a bag on their lap.
Fold the rear seats and the space opens to a near-flat 1829 litres, enough for a mall haul, flat-pack furniture or a few weeks of supplies. For a relocating family or a long stay where you're buying and hauling, that flat floor is the difference between one trip and three.
The 54-litre tank and the relaxed engine mean you're not living at the pump. Expect somewhere around 8 L/100 km in mixed city and highway driving, a little thirstier in pure stop-start heat with the AC working hard. That gives comfortably more than 600 km on a fill, so a typical week of errands plus a couple of airport runs is one or two stops. Fuel here is cheap, so the running cost stays low.
Salik tolls run on the account and pass to you as the renter, and any RTA fine during the rental is yours too, so watch the limits. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which the wide rear doors make easy to fit.
The AC is a strong point. The cabin is well sealed and the front vents pull a parked, baking interior down fast, which is exactly what you want climbing in at 45 degrees after the car has sat in the sun. There are rear vents, so kids in the back aren't left to roast while the front gets cool. On a July afternoon that's the difference between a calm drive and a miserable one.
At 4.66 metres it's a mid-size footprint, so multi-storey bays and Marina ramps are manageable, though it's longer than a hatch and you'll lean on the reversing camera in tight spots. The 181 mm ground clearance clears Dubai's speed bumps and mall ramps without scraping. It's front-wheel drive, so treat it as a road car: fine for everything a Dubai week normally involves, but leave soft sand and dune tracks to a proper 4x4.
Rent the Sportage 2025 if you're a couple or a small family who want space, a big boot, a high view and a comfortable, easy drive for a Dubai week without paying for a full-size SUV. The 2.0-litre engine is enough for the city and honest on the highway, and the cargo room is where this car justifies itself.
Size up to a seven-seater if you regularly carry six or more, or three child seats side by side. Drop to a hatchback if it's just one or two of you on city errands and you'd rather have the easiest parking and the lowest fuel bill. And if you want a quick, eager drive, this base engine isn't it; the larger-engined Sportage is. For everyone in between, this is a comfortable, sensible week on the road.
