Kia Sportage 2025 - start from 237 AED / day

The Kia Sportage 2025 is one of the few compact SUVs you can rent in Dubai with a real choice of powertrain, and that choice is the whole point of this page. We bring it to your door in one to two hours, with the no-deposit plan if you'd rather not tie up your card. The line-up runs from a 2.5-litre petrol up to a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, and the right one depends entirely on how much driving your week actually involves. Pick well and the Sportage is a roomy, easy SUV that barely visits the pump. Pick wrong and you've paid for efficiency you'll never use.

Which powertrain to actually rent

Start with the petrol. The 2.5-litre four makes 187 hp through an eight-speed automatic, and for most renters it's the sensible default. It's smooth around town, has enough push for the school run and mall trips, and cruises calmly at 120 on the E11. It builds speed steadily rather than urgently, so overtaking takes a moment of planning, but for a normal Dubai week that's no hardship.

The hybrid is the one we'd nudge you toward if you're clocking serious mileage, daily airport runs, long highway stretches, or a month-long stay where fuel adds up. It sips far less in stop-start traffic, which is exactly where Dubai punishes a thirsty engine. The plug-in hybrid only makes sense if you can actually charge it at home or work. Without a charger it's just a heavier hybrid carrying a battery you're not feeding, so skip it unless your building has a wallbox.

Running it for a week without living at the pump

This is where the powertrain choice pays off. On the petrol you'll see around 9.4 L/100 km in mixed driving, a touch worse in pure stop-start heat with the AC fighting hard. The 54.1-litre tank still stretches close to 850 km when you're easy on the highway, so a week of errands plus a couple of DXB runs is one fill, maybe two. The hybrid covers the same week on noticeably less, and over a long rental that gap turns into real money.

Fuel is cheap here, so even the petrol won't sting. Salik tolls run on the account and pass to you as the renter, and any RTA fine during the rental is yours, so keep an eye on the limits. Children under four need a child seat by law, and we'll fit one on request.

Space, the boot, and whether your luggage fits

The Sportage is bigger inside than the badge suggests. Four adults sit without trading knee room, and the high seating gives you the SUV view over traffic that makes Dubai driving less stressful. The wide rear doors make fitting a child seat easy rather than a wrestling match. It's a five-seater, and that's the firm limit. For six or seven people, or three child seats side by side, this is the wrong car and you'd want a proper seven-seater.

The boot is the practical headline. At 591 litres on the petrol it's among the largest in the class, and it takes two big hard cases plus soft bags and a stroller with the seats up. That's a family-of-four airport run with nobody nursing a bag on their lap. Fold the rear seats and you've got up to 1780 litres of near-flat floor, enough for a mall haul or a relocation run. Note the plug-in hybrid loses some of that space to its battery, so if cargo is the deciding factor, the petrol is the one to book.

Heat, parking and Dubai roads

The AC is a strong point. The cabin seals well and the front vents pull a parked, baking interior down quickly, which is what you want climbing in at 45 degrees after the car has cooked in the sun. There are rear vents, so kids in the back aren't left to roast. On a July afternoon that's the difference between a calm drive and a miserable one.

At 4.66 metres it's a mid-size footprint. Multi-storey bays and Marina ramps are manageable, though it's longer than a hatch and you'll lean on the reversing camera in tight spots. The 181 mm of clearance on the front-driver clears speed bumps and mall ramps without scraping, and the AWD's 211 mm gives margin for a kerb-heavy car park or a rough track. Even so, treat this as a road SUV. For soft sand and dunes you want a dedicated 4x4, not a Sportage.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the petrol Sportage 2025 if you want a roomy, comfortable compact SUV for a normal Dubai week, with the biggest boot in its class and an easy drive. Step up to the hybrid if you're racking up highway miles or staying a month, where the fuel saving is real. Take the plug-in only if you can charge it, otherwise its advantage disappears.

Size up to a seven-seater if you regularly carry six or more. Drop to a hatchback if it's just one or two of you on city errands and you'd rather have the simplest parking and the lowest fuel bill. For a family who wants space, comfort and a powertrain matched to their mileage, the Sportage is the smart pick.
