If you want midsize SUV room without a midsize SUV rate, the Kaiyi X7 2026 is worth a look, and you can rent it from us in Dubai from age 18, while most of the market won't hand you an SUV until 21. That age rule is the easy part. The harder question is whether a value-brand badge buys you enough car for a family week here, and that's what this page is really about. The X7 gives you a big cabin, a strong turbo engine, and a long equipment list for less money than the established names. What it asks in return is that you accept a less familiar badge and a few rough edges.
The X7 is a midsize SUV that 24baba rents as a five-seater. That matters up front, because the X7 sells elsewhere as a seven-seat car, and you don't want to book it expecting a third row that isn't in this one. Five seats, plenty of shoulder room, and a tall body that's easy to climb in and out of: that's the shape of it.
Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 238 horsepower, sent to the front wheels through an automatic gearbox. For a budget SUV, that's a genuinely healthy figure. It'll do 0 to 100 km/h in about 8.2 seconds and run on to a top speed of 200 km/h, so this isn't a car that runs out of breath the moment you join Sheikh Zayed Road. The turbo gives it real shove for overtaking and merging, which is more than you can say for a lot of cheap SUVs.
| Spec | Kaiyi X7 2026 |
|---|---|
| Class / body | Economy midsize SUV |
| Seats | 5 |
| Engine | 2.0L turbo petrol |
| Power | 238 hp |
| Drivetrain | Front-wheel drive |
| Transmission | Automatic |
| 0-100 km/h | 8.2 seconds |
| Top speed | 200 km/h |
| Fuel tank | 60 litres |
The numbers in that table are the reference. The judgment is below.
This is where the X7 earns its keep. The cabin is wide and the boot is deep, so a family of four plus a week of shopping and beach gear loads in without a fight. Two large cases and a couple of soft bags is a fair expectation, with room left on the back seat for the odd extra. For two adults and two kids on mall runs and day trips, there's space to spare.
Where to be honest: as a five-seater, it's a family-of-four or family-of-five car, not a people-mover. If you're travelling six or seven deep, or you specifically need that third row for relatives and an airport pile of cases, don't stretch the X7 to do it. A proper seven-seat SUV is the right tool, and trying to make five seats behave like seven just ends in a cramped drive.
A parked car in a Dubai July is brutal, and a tall SUV cabin holds a lot of hot air. The X7's air conditioning pulls a baked interior down to comfortable inside a few minutes of driving, which is what you want when the dashboard has been sitting at 45 outside. Front vents are strong. Rear passengers get their own vents too, so kids in the back aren't left waiting on whatever drifts back from the front, a real difference on longer drives out to the desert or down the coast. Park in shade when you can and crack the windows for the first minute, and the system does the rest comfortably.
On the highway the X7 is settled and quiet enough, and that turbo means E11 cruising and the run out to DXB or DWC are easy. It's happiest at a steady pace rather than being thrown around. It's a big body, so multi-storey bays and the tighter Marina ramps want a bit of attention, and you'll use the parking camera. Speed bumps and mall ramps are no drama given the SUV ride height. Just remember the front-wheel-drive layout: this is a road SUV, not a dune car, so leave the soft sand to a proper 4x4.
With a 60-litre tank and a turbo petrol engine, expect to fill up roughly once a week on normal city driving, more if you spend real time at highway speed. It's not the most frugal engine in the class, and the power comes at the pump, so budget for fuel rather than assuming SUV-economy miracles.
A couple of Dubai admin points worth stating plainly. Salik tolls are billed to you as the renter, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you as well. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat. None of that is unique to this car, but it's your cost to plan for.
Rent the Kaiyi X7 if you want the most SUV space and equipment your money can buy, you're a family of four or five, and you don't mind a badge you haven't heard of. The turbo engine and the size make it a lot of car for a low rate, and the age-18 rule makes it reachable for younger renters who get turned away elsewhere. It does the school run, the mall, the airport and a relaxed highway cruise without complaint.
Skip it if you need a true seven-seater, if you're heading off-road, or if resale-grade familiarity and a long service reputation matter to you. In those cases an established 7-seat SUV is the safer pick, even at a higher rate. But for room on a budget, the X7 is an honest deal, and we'll have it at your door in Dubai within one to two hours.
