Boxy, upright and styled to look like it belongs on a trail, the Jetour T2 2026 is one of the more characterful SUVs we hand over in Dubai, and we can have it at your door inside one to two hours. The look does a lot of the talking here: squared-off wheel arches, a flat roofline, the spare-tyre profile at the back. What you're really renting is an adventurous-looking family SUV at a low rate, with the space and the AWD to back up most of the promise. This page is about where that promise holds and where the styling writes a cheque the car can't fully cash.
Underneath the rugged shape, this is a roomy five-seat midsize SUV with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, 245 hp, an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. It's tall, it sits high, and it has the road presence of something that costs a lot more. For a week of school runs, mall trips, beach mornings and the odd graded track out toward Hatta, it does the job and looks good doing it.
The honest part: this is a value-brand SUV wearing off-road clothing. The 220 mm of ground clearance and the AWD system are real, and they'll handle hard-packed sand, gravel and light trails without drama. But it isn't a low-range, locking-diff desert machine. If your plan is deep soft dunes or serious off-road with a convoy, this isn't the tool, and I'll say so before you book.

This is where the T2 earns its rate. The cabin is genuinely wide, the roofline is high, and three across the back row is workable for shorter trips rather than a squeeze you apologise for. Two adults and two kids travel comfortably with room to spare.
For luggage, the boot takes a big weekly shop or two large cases plus soft bags with ease, and folding the rear seats opens up enough flat space for flat-pack furniture or a couple of bikes. A family of four heading to DXB or DWC for a week away fits their cases without playing Tetris in the car park.
A tall SUV with a lot of glass bakes fast in a Dubai summer, so the question that matters is how quickly the AC recovers. Park this in open sun at midday and the cabin will be brutal for the first stretch. The system pulls it down to comfortable inside a few minutes once you're moving, and the rear vents mean kids in the back row aren't left waiting on cold air drifting from the front.
Practical tip from the desk: crack the windows for thirty seconds before you set off in July, let the worst of the trapped heat escape, then let the AC do its work.
At nearly 4.8 metres long and just over 2 metres wide, the T2 is a big car to thread through tight spots. Multi-storey bays in older Marina towers and some mall levels are snug, and you'll lean on the cameras more than you would in a hatchback. The upright shape helps visibility, which takes the stress out of reversing into a narrow bay.
The 220 mm of clearance is a quiet bonus in daily Dubai driving. Aggressive speed bumps in residential clusters, steep mall ramps, raised loading-zone kerbs: the T2 clears all of it without the scrape that low crossovers fear. You sit high and nothing about the ride height makes you wince at a speed table.
On Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 the 245 hp engine has plenty in hand for overtaking and merging at speed, and the car settles into a relaxed cruise that doesn't feel out of its depth above 100. Airport runs to DXB or DWC are easy, with the height giving a commanding view in heavy traffic.
The trade-off is fuel. A 2.0-litre turbo pushing a tall AWD SUV returns roughly 9 to 10 km/L in real Dubai mixed driving, and city-only weeks land at the thirsty end of that. The 70-litre tank gives you a healthy range, so on a normal week of city use you're looking at one fill, maybe two if you're doing daily long highway hops. Budget for that rather than expecting hatchback economy from a car this size.
A few Dubai basics before you take the keys. Salik tolls run on your account, so every gantry you pass on SZR adds up over a week. Any RTA fine during the rental passes to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit on request.
The AWD system and the clearance make the T2 capable on the kind of terrain most renters actually attempt: a graded desert track for sunset photos, a gravel road out to a wadi, hard sand near the coast. It'll do that confidently. What it won't do is rescue you from soft-dune bashing or a technical off-road route, where you want low-range gearing and recovery points this car doesn't have.
So the rule is simple. If "off-road" means a scenic track and a picnic, the T2 is more than enough. If it means a desert safari convoy through the deep stuff, rent a proper body-on-frame 4x4 and leave the T2 for the tarmac and the trailheads.
Rent the Jetour T2 2026 if you want a big, tall, adventurous-looking SUV with real family space and light-trail ability, and you'd rather not pay premium-badge money for the look. For a family week of city driving, airport runs and the occasional easy track, it's a lot of car for the rate.
Skip it if you need serious dune capability, in which case size up to a dedicated 4x4. And if a resale-strong, long-proven badge matters more to you than standout styling, an established midsize SUV is the safer call. For everyone in between, who wants the rugged look and the space without the bill, the T2 is an easy car to recommend.
