The Jetour T2 2026 belongs to the week where you are hauling people and their things. Two adults, two kids, a boot loaded to the parcel shelf, a Saturday out towards Hatta and a Sunday spent circling a mall car park. We rent the Jetour T2 2026 across Dubai with a no deposit option, so the card hold that usually eats a few thousand dirhams never has to happen. This is a five seater on a wide, square, upright body, and that shape decides almost everything about whether it suits your booking. Space is what you are paying for here, and the width is what you pay with.
The load bay is tall and genuinely square, with a low lip you can slide a heavy case over rather than lift it clear. Published boot figures for this car are all over the place depending on where you look, so we go by what we have loaded ourselves. Two large hard cases stand upright side by side with room for soft bags and a pushchair on top, which covers a family arriving at DXB with a week of clothes. Drop one side of the rear bench and a third large case goes in without disturbing the passenger behind the other side.
The shape matters more than any litre count. Boots that taper towards a sloping tailgate waste the top half of the space, and this one does not taper. If you are collecting people from the airport and quietly planning a second trip, you probably do not need one.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Class / body | SUV, 5-door |
| Seats | 5 |
| Engine | 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, 1998 cc |
| Power | 254 PS (187 kW) |
| Torque | 390 Nm from 1750 rpm |
| Transmission | 7-speed dual-clutch automatic |
| Drive | Four wheel drive, on demand, no low range |
| Fuel economy | 9.3 L/100 km combined |
| Fuel tank | 70 litres |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 4785 x 2006 x 1880 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2800 mm |
| Ground clearance | 220 mm |
| Approach / departure angle | 39 / 30 degrees |
The 2800 mm wheelbase buys real rear legroom, and because the roofline runs flat to the tailgate instead of dropping away, a tall adult in the back is not ducking. Three across the rear bench works for a short hop across town. For a longer run down to Abu Dhabi, the middle seat is the usual compromise it is in any five seater, so four occupants and the boot is the sweet spot.
Parents get the better end of this car. The rear door openings are square and wide, which turns fitting a child seat into a thirty second job rather than a shoulder-first wrestle in a hot car park. Under fours legally need a child seat here, and we will fit one before delivery if you ask. Belts are required in every seat, front and back.
One thing to be clear about before you book. A seven seat T2 exists for 2026, but the car on this page is the five seater. If you need a third row, this is the wrong reservation.
At 9.3 L/100 km combined and a 70 litre tank, the official maths gives roughly 750 km on a fill. Dubai reality with the AC fighting a July afternoon and a lot of stop-start traffic pulls that closer to 600 km, which for most renters still means one visit to the pump across a normal week. Fuel is cheap enough here that a 2.0 turbo does not punish you the way it would in Europe.
The bigger variable is distance. We include 300 km a day, and anything past that is AED 0.5 per kilometre. To put that in context, a return trip to Hatta plus a week of ordinary city driving sits comfortably inside the allowance. Salik tolls are charged to you every time you pass a gate, and any RTA fine issued during the rental passes to the renter as well.
At 2006 mm across, the T2 is broad, wider than most family SUVs you will park next to. Older multi storey bays around the Marina will leave you edging out sideways. Fold the mirrors, use the cameras, and take surface parking when it is offered. The compensation is 220 mm of ground clearance, which turns speed bumps, kerbs and steep ramp lips into things you stop thinking about.
On Sheikh Zayed Road it holds 120 without effort, and 390 Nm arriving at 1750 rpm means an overtake needs a squeeze of throttle and nothing more. The seven speed dual clutch can feel a beat slow pulling away from a standstill in heavy traffic. That is the gearbox behaving normally, not a fault, but it is worth knowing before you blame the car.
Heat is the daily one. A big glassy cabin left in an August car park gets brutal, and the T2 has plenty of glass to soak it up, so it takes longer to cool than a small hatchback. Give it three or four minutes with the fan up. The front vents are strong once it is running, and rear passengers get their own air, which is what matters when the kids are behind you.
The four wheel drive is worth a straight answer too. It is a real BorgWarner on demand system with terrain modes including sand, and with 220 mm underneath it will handle graded desert tracks and wadi roads that beach an ordinary crossover. What it does not have is low range gearing, and this is a unibody car with a dual clutch gearbox. Repeated clutch slip in deep soft sand cooks that transmission. Take it on the hard stuff and enjoy it. For a dune session, book a Wrangler or a body on frame 4x4 instead.
Rent the T2 if your week is about carrying people and luggage in comfort, with the option of getting off tarmac onto graded tracks at the weekend. A family of four with full airport cases, or a group who want something with presence and a strong engine rather than another white crossover, will get their money's worth. Being able to rent from 18 makes it bookable for younger drivers most Dubai desks turn away.
Book something else in two situations. If your week is entirely city errands and old multi storey parking, the 2006 mm width becomes a daily irritation and a mid size crossover does the same job with less swearing. If your plan is soft sand dune driving, the missing low range makes this the wrong tool no matter how capable it looks. Everywhere in between, the T2 is a lot of usable space for the rate.
