The turbo engine, and how the drivetrain behaves

Jetour pairs the UAE-market car with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic rather than the dual-clutch box some export markets get, a deliberate swap for the region's stop-start traffic and heat, where a DCT is more prone to hesitating or shuddering at a red light.

Power reaches all four wheels through a BorgWarner all-wheel-drive system, so the drivetrain does more than most crossovers wearing the same badge shape. Combined with 220mm of ground clearance, it copes fine with the graded track into Hatta or a rutted beach car park.
