Plans in this city change on the day, so we deliver the JAC JS4 2023 to your door in Dubai inside one to two hours, with a no-deposit option and a debit card accepted at handover. We hand keys over from age 18, which most desks here won't do until 21. The JS4 earns its booking for one specific reason, and that reason is the 520-litre boot. Nothing else renting at this level of the price list gives you that much load space with five seats still in place. If everything you are carrying fits in a hatchback, you have cheaper options. If it doesn't, this is the car that solves it.
520 litres is a lot for a compact SUV, and it is the number that should decide this booking. Two large hard cases stand upright with room beside them for holdalls, a pram folds in without anyone surrendering a seat, and a full weekly shop for a family of five doesn't need the parcel shelf raised. Most cars renting near this rate give you something in the 300 to 400 litre bracket, where the third case goes on a lap.
Drop the 60:40 rear bench and the space opens out to roughly 1,050 litres, which covers bicycles, a mattress topper, or the boxes that come with moving into a new apartment. The load lip is high enough that heavy cases want a proper lift rather than a slide, so if you are collecting someone with a bad back from the airport, be the one loading.

| Wheelbase | 2,620 mm |
| Ground clearance | 150 mm minimum, measured at full load |
| Kerb weight | 1,365 kg |

The 2,620 mm wheelbase buys real rear legroom, so an adult sits behind an adult without either of them negotiating. Width is where you should be realistic. At 1,800 mm across, the back bench takes three teenagers happily and three grown men only for a short hop across town. Two child seats plus an adult in the middle is the more honest picture, and the ISOFIX points are there for it. Children under four legally need a proper seat in the UAE, and we fit them before delivery if you tell us the ages when you book.
Heat is the other half of the passenger question. Leave any tall, glassy cabin in an open bay through a July afternoon and it comes back to you at oven temperature, and this one is no different. What helps is that JAC fitted automatic air conditioning with rear air outlets, which plenty of cars at this money still skip. Cold air reaches the back seat directly rather than trickling through from the dashboard, and with a car seat back there that difference is not small. Give it a couple of minutes of driving with the fans up before it feels properly comfortable, and drop the windows for the first half minute to push the worst of the parked heat out.
The tank holds 50 litres. JAC's UAE material publishes no official combined consumption number, and the third-party figures floating around disagree with each other badly enough that we won't pick one and pretend it is fact. What we can tell you from the fleet is the shape of it: a week of school runs, errands and one airport trip goes by on a single fill, and a daily commute out towards Abu Dhabi means a second visit to the pump.
Mileage is unlikely to trouble you. Every rental includes 300 km a day, which is more than a normal Dubai week goes anywhere near, and anything past it is charged at AED 0.5 per kilometre. Two costs do land on your side of the paperwork. Salik deducts at every gate you pass and comes back to you, and any RTA fine issued while the car is yours passes through as well.
The 1.5-litre turbo makes 147 hp with 210 Nm available from 2,000 rpm, and the CVT gives you smooth, gearchange-free progress in exactly the crawling traffic Dubai serves up every evening. Get onto the E11 and the picture changes. Ask for a quick overtake with the car loaded and the revs climb before the speed does, which is the standard bargain with this kind of gearbox. Cruising at 100 to 120 it is stable and quiet enough. Top speed is 170 km/h, and there is no version of your week where you need it.
Parking is easier than the dimensions suggest. It is 4,410 mm long, which is short for something this practical, and the 360-degree camera plus rear sensors let you place the corners rather than guess at them in a narrow older multi-storey. The quoted minimum of 150 mm ground clearance at full load handles the aggressive speed bumps in residential clusters and steep basement ramps without a scrape. That is the limit of it, though. This is a front-wheel-drive car wearing SUV bodywork, so nothing about it belongs on soft sand.
Take the JS4 if the load space is the problem you are solving: a family arriving with a month of luggage, someone moving between apartments, a group of four who all packed properly. On that job it does more for the money than anything else we run in this bracket, and the delivery and no-deposit route means you can decide the same morning.
Skip it if you are two people with a cabin bag each, because a small automatic hatch will cost you less and park itself into anything. Skip it too if you spend your week at highway speed and want the car to answer when you ask, in which case a Hyundai Creta or an MG ZS gives you a more willing drivetrain for a modest step up. And if the plan involves dunes, book an actual four-wheel-drive. This one will get you buried.
