Hyundai TUCSON 2021 - start from 174 AED / day

We bring the Hyundai Tucson 2021 to your door in Dubai, usually within 1 to 2 hours of booking, so you can have a comfortable five-seat SUV waiting at your hotel, building, or villa without a trip to a rental counter. This is the easy, roomy choice at an older-year rate: a compact crossover that sits a little higher than a sedan, swallows a week of luggage, and asks nothing complicated of the driver. If you want a sensible family SUV for a Dubai week and you don't need a third row or sharp acceleration, this is the one to start with.

Why the 2021 Tucson still makes sense

The third-generation Tucson had its rougher edges sanded off by 2021. The cabin is plain by current standards, with physical buttons rather than a wide glass dashboard, but everything falls where your hand expects it. You climb in, you go. There's no learning curve, which matters more than people admit when you're driving an unfamiliar car on the right side of the road in heavy traffic for the first time.

What you're really renting here is comfort and space for the money. The suspension is soft and forgiving over Dubai's speed bumps and the patched sections off the main roads. Visibility is good, the seating position is upright, and the steering is light enough that parking never becomes a wrestling match. For two adults running errands, or a family doing mall trips and beach days, it just works.

Does your luggage fit

Yes, for most people, and comfortably. The boot takes two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags with the rear seats up, which covers a family airport run from DXB or DWC without anyone holding a bag on their lap. Drop the back seats and you get a long, flat load space that handles a flat-pack from the mall or a stack of beach gear. Where it gets tight is the four-adults-plus-full-luggage scenario. You'll fit the people fine, but cases for four start to eat into the boot, so plan for that.

Heat, AC and the cabin in summer

This is the question that decides a Dubai rental in July, and the Tucson handles it well for its class. Park it in the sun at 45 degrees and the first minute is unpleasant, like any car here. But the AC pulls the cabin down quickly once you're moving, and the front vents are strong. Rear passengers get their own vents at the back of the centre console, which keeps kids comfortable on longer drives rather than relying on cold air drifting back from the front.

On the road: where it's relaxed and where it isn't

Around town and on the Sheikh Zayed Road at a steady cruise, the Tucson is calm and quiet. The 2.0L engine and the automatic are tuned for smoothness, not urgency. That's the honest caveat: with 150 hp pulling a mid-size SUV, overtaking a truck on the E11 needs a bit of planning. Bury the throttle and it responds, but you feel it working. If you spend your week mostly in the city with the occasional highway stretch, you'll never mind. If you want something that surges when you ask, this isn't that car.

On fuel, expect around 8 litres per 100 km in mixed driving, more if you sit in stop-and-go traffic with the AC fighting the heat. The 62-litre tank gives you roughly 750 km of real-world range, so a typical week of city driving and a couple of longer runs means one fill-up, maybe two. You pay for Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental, and seat belts are required for everyone, with child seats mandatory for under-fours.

Parking and the everyday stuff

At 4.48 metres long it's an easy size to place. Marina towers and mall parking ramps don't trouble it, and the bays in older multi-storeys are manageable with the light steering and decent visibility. The roughly 172 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and steep ramp lips without scraping, which you can't always say for a low sedan. It's high enough to feel planted and see over traffic, low enough that getting kids in and out doesn't need a step.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the 2021 Tucson if you want a comfortable, no-drama family SUV for a Dubai week at a softer older-year rate, you value boot space and an easy drive over speed and the newest screens, and five seats are enough. It's a genuinely sensible pick for couples, small families, and anyone who wants a higher view without paying for a big 4x4.

Size up to a seven-seat SUV if you're travelling with more than four people or doing regular full-house airport runs. Look at the newer Tucson generation if a large touchscreen and a more modern cabin matter to you. And if it's just one or two of you sticking to the city, a hatchback will park easier and cost less to run. For most family-of-four renters, though, this is the comfortable middle, and it does that job well.
