If your week in Dubai means a family, a load of luggage and the school-and-mall routine, the Ford Territory 2025 is the size we'd point you at, and we deliver it to your door within one to two hours on a no-deposit plan if you'd rather not tie up your card. This is a proper mid-size family SUV: five real seats, a deep boot, and a 1.8-litre turbo that has the muscle the smaller crossovers lack. The argument here is space and pace for the money. If you've been squeezing four people into a compact SUV and folding seats to fit the cases, the Territory is the step up that fixes both problems without taking you into luxury-badge prices.
The Territory's footprint is where it earns its keep. At 4.63 metres long and nearly two metres wide, it gives the back seat genuine adult space rather than the kids-only room you get a class below. Three across the rear works for a real trip, not just a short hop. The boot holds 448 litres with all five seats up, which swallows three large suitcases for an airport run with people still aboard. Drop the 60:40 rear seats and it opens up to 1,422 litres, enough for a flat-pack run or a fortnight of holiday kit. This is the part that decides the rental for most families, and the Territory clears the bar a compact crossover can't reach.
The cabin matches the size. A large central touchscreen, a clear digital driver's display and soft surfaces where it counts make it feel a step above an economy badge, and the high seating gives you the commanding view that makes Dubai's wide roads easy to read.

The 1.8-litre EcoBoost turbo makes 190 hp, which is a lot for this class and means the Territory never feels like it's working hard. Fully loaded with family and bags, it still merges onto Sheikh Zayed Road without effort and overtakes on the E11 with room to spare. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is quick and smooth at a cruise. Its one quirk is the same as any DCT: a slight hesitation in slow stop-and-go crawling, the kind you hit approaching a busy junction. It's a characteristic rather than a fault, and it fades from notice within a day. On the move, the power is the headline, and a heavily loaded Territory feels far more relaxed at speed than a small-engined rival ever could.
Expect 8 to 10 km/l in real city driving, more on a steady highway run. The 60-litre tank backs that up with a long legs between fills, comfortably 500 km or more of mixed Dubai use, so a week of school runs, errands and a couple of airport trips won't have you hunting for a station. It's a turbo, so it likes the better petrol, but Dubai fuel is cheap enough that a larger SUV like this stays affordable to run by the standards of anywhere else. The included 250 km a day covers normal city life without thought, and beyond that it's 1 AED per extra kilometre, which only adds up on a long Hatta or Abu Dhabi day.
A bigger body asks for a little more care in tight spots. The Territory is wide, so the snug bays in older Marina towers and multi-storey ramps need a touch more attention than a compact crossover, though the reversing camera and high view make it manageable. The 190 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's speed bumps and steep mall ramps without scraping, and it'll handle a graded track or a beach access road, but it's a front-driver, so leave soft desert sand to a proper 4x4.
On the heat, the larger cabin takes a little longer to cool than a small car, but the climate system is up to it. The front vents hit hard, there are rear vents so back-seat passengers and kids aren't left baking, and once you're moving it pulls a sun-soaked interior down to comfortable within a few minutes. For a family SUV in a Dubai summer, those rear outlets matter more than any other feature. A couple of rules sit with you: Salik tolls charge to the account as you pass the gantries, RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and children under four need a child seat, which we can fit.
Rent the Territory 2025 if you're a family or a group that needs real back-seat space, a boot that takes everyone's luggage, and an engine strong enough to carry the load on the highway without complaint. For the week-long Dubai trip with kids and cases, it's the sensible size and the value pick against pricier mid-size SUVs.
Skip it if it's just one or two of you running around the city, where a compact crossover is cheaper to rent and easier to park, or if you need genuine off-road four-wheel drive for the dunes. For most families who've outgrown a small SUV, the Territory is the roomy, well-priced step up we'd hand over.
