Ferrari 12Cilindri 2023 - start from 9,639 AED / day

Most of the supercar shortlist puts the engine behind you and asks you to live with two seats and a glovebox of luggage space. The Ferrari 12Cilindri does the opposite, and that's the case for renting it. We deliver the Ferrari 12Cilindri in Dubai to your hotel or villa door, usually within one to two hours, and what you collect is a front-engined, naturally aspirated V12 grand tourer: 830 horsepower up front, a long bonnet, and a car you can actually cover distance in. This page is about whether that classic GT layout fits your plans better than a mid-engine track weapon, because the 12Cilindri trades a little sharpness for a lot of usability and drama.

A naturally aspirated V12, the old way

The headline is the engine. A 6.5-litre V12 with no turbos, revving to past 9,000 rpm and making 830 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels through a dual-clutch gearbox. Turbocharged rivals make their power lower and flatter; this one builds it the way the great front-engined Ferraris always did, with the noise and the urgency climbing together as you wind it out. That sound is most of why people book this car, and it's a sound the hybrid and turbo flagships simply can't make.

The pace is there too. Ferrari quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h, neither legal here, but both felt instantly when a clear road opens. The difference from a mid-engine car is the delivery: long-legged and composed at a cruise, savage when you ask, comfortable in between.

The Ferrari you can actually drive all day

This is where the front-engine layout pays off. On the open E11 or a long run toward Hatta, the 12Cilindri behaves like a proper grand tourer, settling into a quiet, planted cruise and overtaking with one push of your foot. It's the rare Ferrari that suits a full day out rather than a single sharp blast, and the 92-litre tank backs that up. You can cover real ground between fills, and you won't be planning the day around fuel stops the way you would in a smaller-tanked supercar, though a stint at speed will still send you to a pump.

What it isn't is a city car. At 4.73 metres long and nearly 2.18 metres wide, it's a big machine for Marina side-streets and tight multi-storey bays, and it's happiest with open road ahead of it. Book it for the drive and the arrival, not the school run.

The low nose, parking and size

Like any car of this kind, the 12Cilindri sits low and the front is close to the ground. Steep mall ramps, sharp speed bumps and some car-park entries need a slow, angled approach, and a nose-lift system handles the worst of them, so confirm it's fitted at handover. The real challenge in Dubai is the width. This is a wide car, so tight bays and narrow ramps take patience, and at most venues valet parking is the simpler answer. None of this is a flaw, just the reality of placing a big, low GT in a multi-storey.

Heat and the cabin in summer

The cabin is larger and more comfortable than a mid-engine Ferrari's, but a Dubai afternoon will still leave it very hot after time in the sun. The climate system pulls the temperature down quickly once you're rolling and the front vents are strong, so give it a minute after a midday start before you set off. As a long-distance GT, it's a genuinely pleasant place to spend a few hours once it's cool, which is exactly what its layout promises. The months from roughly November to March are the easiest for long daytime drives.

Costs and terms you carry

Salik charges register automatically as you cross the gantries and are yours to settle. Any RTA fine raised against the car during your rental, including speed-camera penalties, passes to you, and Dubai's enforcement is strict enough that an 830-horsepower car makes it easy to drift over a limit. Exotics also carry tighter rental terms than a standard car, with a higher age and licence requirement and a security hold reflecting the value. We confirm the exact figures at booking, so ask before you commit.

Who should rent it

Rent the 12Cilindri if you want the full naturally aspirated V12 experience in a car you can actually drive for a day, a long coast run, a shoot, or an arrival that has to make a statement. It's the grandest, most dramatic Ferrari to hand over keys to, and the front-engine layout makes it far more usable than a track-focused mid-engine car. Look elsewhere if your plan is tight, technical driving in a compact package, where an F8 or a 296 is sharper, or if you need rear seats and real luggage room, where a four-seat GT or an SUV makes more sense. But for a V12 grand tourer with presence and genuine reach, the 12Cilindri is the one to book.
