Before we confirm a seven-seat booking on the Exeed VX 2024, our desk asks one question that catches people off guard: how many bags are you bringing? We rent this one in Dubai and deliver it to your door inside one to two hours, and the question has a practical reason behind it. The VX is a genuinely large three-row SUV, a shade under five metres long, but the space left behind the third row when all seven seats are occupied holds roughly one suitcase. Plan the seats and the luggage together and this is one of the better value big SUVs we hand over. Plan them separately and somebody rides with a bag on their knees.
Seven seats and a big boot are two different purchases, and the VX only sells you one of them at a time. With every seat in use, the load bay behind the third row swallows a single large case and not much else, so a family of seven arriving at DXB with a week of hard luggage is going to be short of room. Fold the third row down and you get 461 litres, which is a proper five-seat SUV boot and comfortably takes three or four cases. Drop the second row as well and the load bay opens out to around 1,800 litres, enough for furniture runs and bulky sports kit.
So five people with full luggage works easily, and seven people with soft overnight bags works. Seven people and seven people's suitcases does not, and no amount of clever stacking changes that.

The first two rows are the good news. There's real legroom in the middle bench, three across works for adults on a half-hour run, and the cabin is quiet and well finished in a way that surprises people who have never sat in an Exeed.
The third row is a different conversation. It's kids' seating. Getting back there means tipping and squeezing past the middle row, and once you're in, headroom and knee room are tight for anyone adult-sized. Two children on the school run or a short hop across town is exactly what it's for. Two grown adults on an hour in traffic will not enjoy it, and we'd rather say that now than hear it at drop-off.
Summer changes the calculation again. A cabin this big with this much glass gets brutally hot in an open lot in July, and the third row sits furthest from the cold air. The AC has the capacity to cope, there are vents feeding the rear rows, and climate control runs in zones, but give it two or three minutes with the fan up and a window cracked before loading children into the back. The front seats will be comfortable long before the third row is.
A 1.9-tonne turbocharged SUV is not a frugal thing, and the VX is honest about it. The claimed figure is around 12.5 km/L, but running the AC hard through Dubai summer traffic pulls real-world consumption closer to 8 or 9 km/L. From the 65-litre tank that works out at roughly 550 to 650 kilometres of genuine mixed driving, so budget two fills across a normal week rather than one.
Mileage runs at 300 km per day included, with anything beyond that charged at AED 0.5 per kilometre. For city and airport use that allowance is generous. If you're planning several long runs up to Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah, do the arithmetic before you set off. Salik tolls run on the car and pass through to you, as do any RTA fines during your rental. Belts are required in all three rows, children under four need a proper child seat, and we'll fit one if you ask when booking.
All four wheels are driven here, through a torque-on-demand system that sends power rearward when the fronts start slipping. That's worth having on a wet December morning or a sandy access road out toward a farm or a graded track. It is not a dune car. The VX is a road SUV with useful traction, so leave soft sand to a proper body-on-frame 4x4 and nobody has to make a recovery call.
On the highway it's in its element. The 2.0-litre turbo has enough shove to move a full car up to speed without straining, the gearbox shifts early and smoothly, and it sits stable and quiet on the E11 at cruising pace. The steering is tuned for comfort rather than precision, which suits long straight runs and makes it feel a touch vague if you push it through bends.
City work is where the size shows. At 1,940 mm wide it fills a standard mall bay with very little left over, and a tight multi-storey ramp wants your full attention and the 360-degree camera. It does at least ride high enough to clear aggressive community speed bumps and steep basement ramps without scraping.
Rent the Exeed VX 2024 if you're five or six people who want a big, quiet, well-equipped SUV with a comfortable highway ride and room for a real week of luggage, with the third row held in reserve for kids or short hops. On space and cabin quality for the money, it's a strong booking, and the minimum age of 18 means younger drivers in the group can be on the rental where most Dubai desks would say 21.
Skip it in two situations. If you genuinely need seven adult seats and seven people's luggage at once, this is the wrong shape of car and a van-based people carrier will serve you far better. And if it's two or three of you doing Marina errands and mall parking all week, the VX is more vehicle than the job needs, drinking more fuel and demanding more of every car park than a midsize SUV would. For a family who wants space, comfort and an occasional extra pair of seats, though, it's the value pick in its size class, and we'll have it outside your building within a couple of hours.
