One question decides whether the Exeed LX 2026 suits your week in Dubai, and it has nothing to do with the engine. How much are you carrying, and how many people are coming with you? This is a five-seat SUV with a 400-litre boot, and those two numbers settle most bookings before anything else gets a look in. We rent it across Dubai with a no-deposit option, so nothing sits blocked on your card for the length of the hire. The 2026 car is a mild update rather than a new model, so if you have driven an older LX, the packing maths has not changed.
Four hundred litres is competent rather than generous, and it helps to be specific about what that buys you. A large hard case and a medium one sit side by side with room for a laptop bag on top. Add a third full-size case and you are stacking, which works fine until somebody needs the one at the bottom. Fold the rear bench down and the floor opens up enough for a bike with the front wheel off, or the kind of flatpack run a sedan boot simply refuses to take.
The 2026 revision did not help here, and that is worth saying plainly. The car grew to 4,533 mm long from 4,520, gained 10 mm in height and picked up 20 mm of wheelbase. Wheelbase sits between the axles, so that gain went to the people in the back rather than the cargo behind them. If you were hoping the newer car bought you more luggage space, it did not.
Four adults travel well in this thing. The rear bench is broad enough across the outer seats, and the longer wheelbase gives knees a little more room behind a tall driver. The middle position is the usual compromise, narrower and firmer with the transmission tunnel underfoot. It is fine for a run to dinner and wearing on a day trip to Abu Dhabi.
Rear passengers get their own vents, which counts for more in this city than a spec line suggests. In August, the gap between a car that only blows cold at the dash and one that feeds the back row is the gap between children complaining for ten minutes and children who settle. Be realistic about the first minute in a cabin that has been sitting in open sun, because that is unpleasant in every car sold here. Once you are moving with the fan up, the LX pulls down to comfortable at a sensible pace and then holds it at 45 degrees outside without the system sounding strained. Park under cover where you can. The dark upper surfaces in here take on heat quickly.
| Spec | Exeed LX 2026 |
|---|---|
| Engine | 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol |
| Transmission | CVT automatic |
| Drive | Front-wheel drive |
| Seats | 5 |
| Boot | 400 litres |
| Fuel economy | About 14 km/L combined |
| Fuel tank | 51 litres |
| Range | Roughly 700 km |
| 0 to 100 km/h | About 12 seconds |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 4,533 x 1,848 x 1,700 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,670 mm |
| Ground clearance | 200 mm |
About 14 km per litre in mixed use is a fair expectation, and the tank holds 51 litres, so a full one covers roughly 700 km. Most people renting here cover 60 to 100 km a day between home, an office, a mall and one airport run. That makes a single fill enough for the better part of a week. Fuel is not the expensive part of this rental, and it is one of the few areas where the LX genuinely undercuts a bigger SUV rather than just looking cheaper on the daily rate.
Your rate includes 300 km a day. Using all of that in one day means driving to Abu Dhabi and back with distance to spare, and it would take roughly 21 litres to do it. Anything past the allowance is AED 0.5 per kilometre. Salik tolls accumulate on the car while you have it and come back to you afterwards, as do any RTA fines. Belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we fit before delivery if you tell us in advance. We also hand this car to drivers from 18, where most desks in Dubai start at 21.
Ground clearance is 200 mm. That is the figure keeping this car relaxed over Dubai's speed bumps and the steeper entry ramps at older malls, where a low sedan announces itself with a scrape and an apology. Standard bays take the LX without negotiation, and the 13 mm of extra length on the 2026 car changes nothing you will ever feel from the driver's seat.
Highway manners are calm rather than eager. Zero to 100 takes around 12 seconds, so an overtake wants planning instead of a stab at the throttle, and that goes double with five people aboard. The other limit worth stating outright is the drivetrain. This is front-wheel drive, so it is a tarmac car. Soft sand and dune tracks need a proper four-wheel drive, and we would rather tell you that now than collect you from a berm later.
Rent the Exeed LX 2026 if you are two to four people staying mostly inside the city, doing school runs, office trips and the occasional airport pickup, and you want a raised driving position and a quiet, well-finished cabin without the parking penalty a large SUV brings. That describes a lot of our customers, and for them this is one of the easier cars we hand over.
Size up if you are five adults with five bags, or if your week is built around long highway stints where you want the overtake to happen the moment you ask for it. Something with a third row and a deeper boot will serve a bigger group better, and anything involving sand wants a Prado or a Patrol. Inside its brief, though, the LX asks very little of you.
