Citroen C5 2025 - start from 198 AED / day

Looking for a car that rides soft over Dubai's speed bumps and doesn't look like every other crossover in the mall car park? We rent the Citroen C5 2025, the C5 Aircross SUV, across Dubai with a no-deposit option, so you can have one delivered without tying up a chunk of cash on a hold. The pitch here is simple. This is a comfort-first French SUV with a famously cushioned ride, a roomy five-seat cabin and styling that stands apart from the German and Japanese default. If you want cruising ease and space more than sharp corners or a prestige badge, it's a genuinely good week's rental. If you want a sporty drive, it isn't.

What kind of SUV this actually is

The C5 Aircross is built around comfort first, and you feel it within the first kilometre. The suspension soaks up Dubai's endless community speed bumps and the broken tarmac on older roads better than most rivals in its class. Where a firmer crossover thuds, this one settles.

The trade-off is honest. Push it through a fast roundabout or a Marina ramp taken with enthusiasm, and the body leans and floats. Drive it the way it wants to be driven, smooth and unhurried, and it's one of the more relaxing things you can rent at this size.

The badge matters less than people think on a rental. You're not buying it or reselling it. For a week, what counts is how it drives, how it cools, and whether your bags fit.

Space, seats and does my luggage fit

Five adults fit without anyone complaining, and the rear bench is one of the cabin's strong points. Three across the back is realistic for shorter airport runs, two is comfortable for a long day out.

Boot space is genuinely useful for the class. Two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags go in without folding seats, which covers a family arriving at DXB or DWC with a week's luggage. Four people with four big hard cases will need to drop part of the rear seat, but for most trips you won't have to. That's a real advantage over the tighter compact crossovers we rent.

Heat, AC and the parked-cabin problem

Dubai summers push past 45 degrees, and the question every renter actually has is how fast the cabin cools after the car's been baking in a car park. The C5 Aircross does fine here. The front vents pull hard once you're moving, and there are rear vents, so back-seat passengers aren't left to suffer. Give it a couple of minutes with the AC on full and the windows briefly cracked, and a parked oven of a cabin comes down to bearable, then comfortable. Park in shade where you can and it's quicker still. Don't expect instant cold the second you sit down, because no car in this range delivers that in July.

Running it in Dubai

On Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11, the C5 Aircross is in its element. It cruises quietly, holds a lane calmly and has enough mid-range from the 1.6 turbo to overtake without drama. This is a relaxed motorway car, not a quick one, which suits long airport runs.

Around town the soft setup pays off again over speed bumps and ramps. The 200 mm of ground clearance clears mall ramps and raised crossings without scraping. It's a mid-size SUV, so tight multi-storey bays and U-turns take a moment more care than a small hatch, but it's far from awkward.

On fuel, the source lists 15.0 km/L on the highway. Real Dubai driving, with traffic, AC running hard and stop-start around the communities, lands lower than that. Plan on filling the 55-litre tank roughly once a week of mixed city use, more if you're commuting long distances daily. The headline range near 950 km is a best case, not what you'll see with the AC working in summer.

A few local rules to keep in mind. You pay the Salik tolls on the routes you cross, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which we can arrange.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the C5 2025 if comfort and space are what you're after. It's a strong pick for families landing at the airport and for anyone tired of the same crossovers everyone else drives. The soft ride and easy cabin are the reason to book it.

Skip it if you want sharp handling or a car that feels eager. The body control is deliberately soft, and that floatiness won't suit a keen driver. If badge prestige is part of your trip, look at a German SUV instead. And if you need a third row or serious off-road ability for the dunes, this front-wheel-drive five-seater isn't the tool. For everyone else who values a calm, cushioned drive over corner-carving, the C5 Aircross is one of the more pleasant SUVs you can have parked at your door this week.
