For a week of Dubai driving where the meter is mostly city traffic and the odd highway hop, the Citroen C4 2025 hybrid keeps your fuel bill low without asking you to plug anything in, and we can have one at your door within one to two hours. This is the self-charging hybrid version of Citroen's compact crossover-hatch, rated at 136 hp, and the case for it is running cost: it sips fuel in stop-and-go traffic where ordinary petrol cars drink it. This page is about whether that efficiency, plus a soft ride and easy parking, is the right trade for your trip, or whether you'd be better served by something with more punch.
The C4 here pairs a 1.2-litre turbo petrol with a small electric motor and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, sending 136 hp to the front wheels. In practice the electric side does the low-speed work, so in crawling traffic and around car parks the engine often stays off. That's exactly where a normal petrol car burns the most.
The combined figure sits around 4.7 litres per 100 km, low for a car this size. Dubai's constant AC load and heavy traffic push real-world numbers up, so plan closer to 5.5 or 6 in a typical city week. Even then, the 50-litre tank stretches a long way. Most renters will fill up once across a week of normal use, and with fuel cheap here the running cost is among the lowest in the class.
The numbers are modest and the C4 doesn't hide it. From rest to 100 km/h takes around 8 seconds, which is fine for merging onto the E11 if you leave a sensible gap. The hybrid gives you a clean, quiet pull away from lights, and the dual-clutch gearbox is smooth in the stop-start crawling that makes up most city driving here.
Where the C4 leans hard is comfort. The suspension is tuned soft, soaking up speed bumps and patched road rather than jolting you, and the seats are wide and forgiving. Push it through a fast roundabout and the body leans, with light steering that tells you little about the front tyres. None of that hurts on a school run or a mall trip. If you want urgency on a loaded highway overtake, a turbo sedan with more torque suits you better.

The boot holds 380 litres, which takes two large suitcases or one big case with a couple of soft bags for an airport pickup. Fold the rear seats and you get about 1,250 litres for a bulkier load. For two adults and a week of errands it's comfortable; for four adults with full airport luggage it gets tight, and you'd size up.
At 4.35 metres long the C4 slots into multi-storey bays and Marina parking without drama, and the light steering makes U-turns and tight ramps easy. Ground clearance is around 156 mm, enough to clear standard speed bumps and mall ramps without scraping. It's a road car, not built for soft sand or rough desert tracks.
Every rental here lives or dies on how fast the cabin cools after baking in a car park at 45 degrees. The C4 runs a sensible single-zone climate system with decent front-vent flow, and the hybrid setup means the AC can run while the car sits at a light without the engine fighting it. Give it a few minutes with the fan up and a hot cabin comes down to comfortable. Like most cars in this class there are no dedicated rear vents, so back-seat passengers wait a touch longer on the worst afternoons. Park in shade when you can and it copes well.
You pay Salik tolls and any RTA fines on the car during your rental, so keep an eye on tagged gantries. Seatbelts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can add on request.
Rent the C4 2025 hybrid if low running cost and a comfortable, easy city car are what you want, with one or two people and a couple of cases. It's efficient in exactly the traffic Dubai throws at you, simple to park, and pleasant to spend a week in. We can deliver within a couple of hours, and renting from 18 is fine here.
Look elsewhere if you regularly carry four adults with full luggage or want real urgency on the highway. For those, a roomier sedan or a crossover with more power is the smarter pick. But for the renter who cares most about sipping fuel through city traffic, the hybrid C4 is hard to beat in this bracket.
