We rent it in Dubai in grey, deliver it to your door within one to two hours, and take debit card or cash at handover. This page settles the real question: whether the C3's genuine ground clearance and turbo pep are worth trading a familiar badge for.

The engine, and how it drives

Open the spec sheet and the C3 breaks from the class script straight away. It runs a 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder with a turbocharger, good for 110 hp and 205 Nm, sent through a 6-speed automatic to the front wheels. Most economy crossovers on this fleet use a bigger, naturally aspirated four and lean on revs to get moving. The C3's turbo torque arrives low, at 1,750 rpm, so it pulls cleanly away from a Sheikh Zayed Road on-ramp or a roundabout without needing to be worked hard first.

Three-cylinder engines have a character of their own: a faint off-beat thrum at idle that smooths out once you're rolling, and a slightly gruffer note under load than a four-cylinder gives you. It isn't unpleasant, just distinct, and it's part of what makes the C3 feel like a different car to drive rather than a badge-swapped rival. One honest limit worth stating plainly: this is a front-wheel-drive car on road tyres, and despite the SUV styling there's no all-wheel-drive C3 in this lineup. Look elsewhere if outright cargo space is the deciding factor. Rivals in this class carry more behind the rear seats for the same money, so a family doing a heavy airport run every week might be better served by a bigger boot. And if the plan includes Hatta trails or anything past the tarmac, this is a front-wheel-drive city car regardless of how tall it stands, so pick a proper 4x4 instead.
