Rent Chevrolet Groove 2025 in Dubai

Turn 19 and most Dubai rental desks still won't hand you the keys. We do, and the Chevrolet Groove 2025 is one of the cheapest ways to get yourself moving. It's a small crossover we rent in Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours, and it costs very little to run across a week of city driving. This page settles one decision: whether the Groove is enough car for one or two people doing errands, the commute and the odd airport run, or whether a passenger too many means you should size up. It wears an SUV shape, so it's worth knowing where that shape stops.

The cheap, easy city crossover

The Groove's whole case is running cost. The 1.5-litre engine sips fuel, with official combined economy around 6.5 litres per 100 km, and real Dubai driving pushes that nearer 8 or 9 once the AC is flat out and the traffic keeps stopping and starting. Even then it's one of the cheapest cars in our fleet to feed. The 45-litre tank gives you roughly 500 km of city running between fills, so a normal commuting week means one trip to the pump, maybe two if you drive in from the far suburbs every day.

Mileage is the other cost to read before you book. You get 2,000 km included across the whole rental, and past that it's AED 1 for every extra kilometre. For a week of commuting, malls and errands that allowance is plenty. String together a few long days out of the city, though, and you'll want to watch the odometer, because at AED 1 a kilometre the overage climbs faster than the fuel bill does. Salik tolls and any RTA fines fall to you as the renter, the same as every car here.

The other reason younger renters land on this page is the age line. You only need to be 19 to take the Groove, where much of the market starts at 21 or 25, and we bring it to your door within one to two hours instead of making you sit at a desk.

Space, boot and passengers

Up front, two adults sit comfortably with the raised seating that makes people pick a crossover over a hatch in the first place. The back seat is fine for two adults on short hops or three kids across for the school run. Put a fourth adult back there for a long airport haul with everyone's cases and it gets tight, which is the honest limit of a car this small.

The boot holds about 320 litres with the seats up. That's one large suitcase and a soft bag or two for a DXB or DWC run, not three cases stacked. Fold the rear seats and it opens to around 1,120 litres, enough for a flatpack run or a bike. For most one or two-person weeks that's more than enough. For a family of four heading to the airport with a week's luggage, it's the point where you'd want a bigger boot.

Parking is where the small footprint pays off. At 4.22 metres long and 1.74 wide, the Groove drops into tight tower bays and mall multi-storey spaces that a full-size SUV has to fight for, and U-turns stay simple. The 160 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and steep mall ramps without a scrape. Don't read that as a desert tool, though. This is front-wheel drive on road tyres, and it belongs on tarmac, not soft sand.

A small engine and the AC in the heat

The engine is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four making 105 hp, driving the front wheels through a CVT automatic. Around town it's fine, pulling away cleanly from the lights and keeping pace with traffic without complaint. Ask for a brisk overtake on Sheikh Zayed Road with a full car and you feel the ceiling, because there's no turbo to lean on and the CVT holds the revs high while it gathers speed. Above 100 it runs a little short of puff, so plan your overtakes rather than expecting an instant kick. It's a city car that can do the highway, not the other way round.

Cooling matters more than horsepower in July, and here the small cabin works in your favour. There's less air to chill, so the front vents pull a baked interior down to bearable within a few minutes of climbing back in after it's cooked in a 48-degree car park. That's quicker than any big SUV manages. There are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers rely on the air pushed through from the front, which is fine for one behind and slower to reach a full back row on the hottest afternoons. Park in shade where you can and it stops being an issue. The cabin is hard plastic and basic, which is exactly what the price buys, but it's screwed together well enough to live with for a week or a month.

Who should rent it, and who should size up

Rent the Groove 2025 if you're one or two people who want a cheap, easy crossover for a Dubai city week or month, and especially if you're 19 or 20 and half the market still won't rent to you. Commuters, solo residents between cars, and couples doing malls, groceries and the occasional airport run are exactly who it suits, and very little costs less to keep fed.

Size up if you're regularly four adults with luggage, or a family that wants proper rear-seat room and rear vents through the summer. A larger crossover or a mid-size sedan will be more comfortable for barely more fuel. And if your plans include real off-road or dune driving, this isn't the car, whatever the SUV shape suggests, because the front-wheel drive keeps it on the blacktop.
