We deliver the Chevrolet Captiva 2026 to your door in Dubai in about 1 to 2 hours, fuelled and ready, so a near-new seven-seater turns up wherever you are instead of at a counter. This is the latest version of Chevrolet's affordable family SUV: three rows, a frugal 1.5-litre turbo, and a colour range that's wider than you'd expect at this end of the market. Our argument is that the 2026 Captiva is the practical pick for a budget-minded family who want low running costs and the newest cabin, as long as you're realistic about what the engine and the boot can do with all seven seats in use. We'll lay out where it fits and where you'd size up.
Start here, because it's the Captiva's strongest card. The petrol model pairs a 52-litre tank with around 14 km/L in real Dubai driving, which translates to a usable range near 800 km. For a normal week of school runs, mall trips and a couple of airport runs to DXB or DWC, that's roughly one fill. Heavy AC use and stop-start traffic will pull the figure down from the lab number, as they do with any car here, but the Captiva stays genuinely cheap to run, and petrol prices in Dubai mean the difference barely shows up on the bill.

The 1.5-litre turbo makes 148 hp through a CVT automatic to the front wheels. Around town with a light load it's smooth and quiet, and it merges onto Sheikh Zayed Road without any fuss. The caveat is what happens when you fill all three rows and add luggage. The turbo has to work, and you'll hear the CVT hold the revs high on long inclines and hard overtakes on the E11. It's adequate for the job, not quick. If your week involves six or seven adults at highway speed, that's the case for a larger engine.
Seven seats is the selling point, but the third row is best treated as occasional, for two children or short trips with adults who won't grumble. The first two rows are the comfortable part, with proper legroom up front and enough room in the middle for growing kids. The boot tells the real story. With the third row folded flat it takes three large cases or a full family shop. Raise that row for passengers and the space behind it shrinks to a couple of soft bags. So you choose per trip: seven seats or full luggage, rarely both at once. Five passengers and their cases on an airport run works if you fold one side of the third row; a full seven plus suitcases is where a bigger SUV earns its place.
Dubai summers sit in the high 40s, and a Captiva left in the sun gets hot fast. The front air conditioning is strong and brings the cabin down at a reasonable rate once you're rolling, though the first few minutes after a midday park are sticky, the same as anything in this class. The point to plan for with a full car is the third row, which sits furthest from the vents and cools last. If you're carrying kids back there on a hot afternoon, get the AC running before you load them. It's a sensible family setup, not a luxury one, and it does what it needs to.
At 4670 mm long it's a midsize footprint that slots into mall multi-storey bays and Marina ramps once you've sized it up, though it's not a car you flick into the last tight gap. The 180 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and steep mall ramps without scraping, and the high seating gives the clear view that makes an SUV easy to place. It cruises calmly at legal speeds and simply doesn't have much spare above 100 when it's loaded.
A few Dubai rules to keep in mind. Salik tolls and any RTA fines pass to you as the renter, seat belts are mandatory in every row including the third, and children under four need a child seat, which we can fit before delivery.
Rent the Captiva 2026 if you want a near-new, low-cost seven-seater for light family use and you like the idea of it arriving at your door ready to go. Two adults, a few kids, the school run and weekend trips with the back row mostly folded for cargo: that's exactly its lane, and the running costs keep it cheap across the week. Don't rent it if you'll regularly carry six or seven adults at highway speed, or need a full boot and a full third row together. For that, or for serious off-road plans, step up to a larger SUV with more power and proper cargo room. As an honest, economical family hauler for everyday Dubai driving, the 2026 Captiva does the job well.
