Chevrolet Camaro 2023 - start from 461 AED / day

If you've shopped Camaro rentals in Dubai, you've seen the 2.0-litre turbo cars and the pricey V8 SS. This listing sits between them: the Chevrolet Camaro 2023 with the 3.6-litre V6, and for a lot of renters it's the one to pick. We deliver it across the city with 250 km a day included, dropped at your door in a couple of hours. The V6 gives you a smoother, deeper-sounding engine and more natural shove than the four, without the rate or the thirst of the V8. This is a rear-drive coupe rented for presence and pace, not for families or airport runs. The page sorts out who that suits and who should book something calmer.

The V6 is the reason to rent this one

The engine is the whole argument. The 3.6-litre V6 makes 335 hp to the rear wheels through an automatic, runs 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.4 seconds, and tops out near 260 km/h. That's genuinely quick, and it arrives in a way the turbo four doesn't quite manage. The six revs cleanly, the response is linear rather than waiting on boost, and there's a proper edge to the noise when you open it up on an empty stretch of the E11.

It still isn't the V8 bark some people picture when they hear Camaro. But the V6 is the sensible middle of the range: most of the drama, a softer rate than the SS, and enough character that you won't feel short-changed. Rear-wheel drive is part of the appeal too. It plants the car at speed in a way no front-drive coupe matches, and it asks for respect on a wet underpass or a dusty road.

Two seats that work, two that don't

Chevrolet lists four seats and on paper that holds. In practice the Camaro is a 2+2. The front seats are low, snug and properly supportive, fine for two adults on a long cruise. The rear bench is a token gesture: headroom is almost nothing, legroom needs the front seats slid forward, and climbing in means folding past the seatback. Use it for bags or a short hop with kids, not for two grown passengers across town.

The boot tells the same story. At roughly 258 litres it takes one large case and a soft bag, or a couple of cabin cases, and that's the ceiling. A high parcel shelf and a narrow opening make it fiddlier than the number suggests. For a DXB or DWC run with a full set of suitcases this is the wrong car, and you'll feel it at the kerb.

What it's like to live with in Dubai

A low, dark cabin under a June sun gets hot fast. The AC pulls a parked cabin down within a few minutes once you're moving and the front vents are strong, but the first stretch after it has baked in a surface lot is genuinely uncomfortable. Park in shade or underground, crack the windows for the first minute, and let it work. Rear occupants get less airflow, another reason the back is best left empty.

Visibility is the daily compromise. The roofline is low, the pillars are thick and the rear glass is a slot, so reversing into a tight multi-storey bay leans on the camera and sensors more than the mirrors. The car is wide, close to 1.9 metres, so narrow Marina ramps and older parking structures want care. The ride is firm, which suits Dubai's smooth highways and keeps the car tied down at speed, but you feel the sharper residential speed bumps. The long, low nose wants a careful angle on steep ramp lips. Take humps straight and slow and you'll be fine.

Fuel and the costs that fall to you

The V6 is thirstier than the turbo four but not punishing. In mixed Dubai driving expect roughly 10 to 12 litres per 100 km, more if you spend your time on the throttle, which the engine will tempt you to do. The 72-litre tank gives a comfortable week of normal driving between fills, so refuelling won't dominate the trip unless you live on the highway.

A few Dubai basics apply. Salik tolls are charged to you at each gantry, and any speed-camera or RTA fines during the rental pass on, so the enforcement on Sheikh Zayed Road is worth respecting in a car this quick. Seat belts are mandatory front and rear. Security terms on a performance car can be stricter than on an economy hatch, so confirm the deposit and driver conditions at booking.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the V6 Camaro if you want real pace and presence for a few days without paying V8 money: a weekend, a shoot, a special occasion, or just the experience of a rear-drive coupe on Dubai's best roads. Two people travelling light will get everything out of it, and the six is the engine I'd steer most renters toward over the turbo four.

Skip it if the car is your daily transport for the week. Four adults, a real luggage load, frequent airport runs, or anyone who has to fold into the back regularly should book a sedan for comfort or an SUV for space. The Camaro earns its keep on looks, noise and pace, and it's honest about the rest. Take it for what it is and it's one of the most enjoyable rentals on the list.
