Chevrolet Blazer 2021 - start from 177 AED / day

The Chevrolet Blazer 2021 is the mid-size SUV to rent in Dubai when you want real American space and a strong V6 without paying premium-badge money, and we'll have it at your door in one to two hours. There's also a no-deposit option, so you skip locking cash against the car for a small fee. Under the bonnet sits a 3.6-litre V6 making 308 hp through a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which is a lot of muscle for the rate. Our take: this is the value family SUV for a group of five with luggage, road trips, and a week of real use. If you only need a runabout for two, you're paying for space you won't fill.

Space, seats and the boot that does the work

This is where the Blazer earns its keep. It's a genuine five-seater with room that the badge SUVs at this size can't match, and the boot is the headline. At 864 litres behind the rear seats it swallows a serious amount of luggage, so five people arriving at DXB or DWC with a full set of suitcases load up without anyone leaving a bag behind. Fold the rear bench and it opens into a proper cargo bay for a furniture run or a week's worth of camping and beach kit.

Two adults up front have easy room, and three across the back works for a family rather than just for kids. For the renter carrying people and their stuff, this is the car's whole reason to exist, and it does that job better than most things at the price.

The V6, and how it drives here

The 3.6-litre V6 is the part that surprises people. With 308 hp it has genuine shove, so merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road or overtaking a slow truck on the E11 takes a single confident press rather than a run-up. The nine-speed automatic keeps the revs low at a cruise, and all-wheel drive keeps it settled and surefooted at speed. It's not a sports SUV, but for a family hauler it has more than enough pace and never feels like it's straining.

That muscle does ask for fuel, but the big tank covers it. The 82.1-litre capacity with quoted economy of 8.1 km/L in the city and 11.0 on the highway gives a range of up to 943 km, so a week of school runs, mall trips and a couple of airport runs is realistically one fill, two if you spend real time on the motorway. For a V6 SUV that's an easy week.

Parking, ramps and the size

At 4862 mm long and 1948 mm wide the Blazer is a big car, and you'll feel it in tight Marina basements and older mall bays where the parking sensors and camera earn their keep. On the open road that footprint feels planted rather than awkward. The 188 mm of ground clearance clears Dubai's speed bumps and the steep lips on mall ramps without scraping, and all-wheel drive copes with a sandy car park or a graded track. Leave soft dune work to a proper desert 4x4, but for everything a Dubai week actually involves it's well sorted.

Keeping cool through a Dubai summer

This matters from May to September. Parked in 45-degree sun the cabin gets brutally hot, and the question is how fast it recovers. The Blazer's climate system pulls a parked cabin down quickly once you're moving, the front vents hit hard, and there are rear outlets so back-seat passengers aren't left baking while the front cools. It's a large cabin to chill, so give it a minute with the doors shut, but for a family with kids in the back those rear vents matter more than any spec on the sheet.

A note on the costs that fall to you: Salik tolls bill to the renter at every gate, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours. A child under four needs a child seat by law, and we'll fit one on request.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Blazer 2021 if you're carrying a family or a group of five with luggage and you want strong V6 pace and a huge boot without paying for a premium badge. It's roomy, it's quick enough to be relaxing on the highway, and the running cost is fair for the muscle on offer.

Skip it if it's just two of you on short city hops, where a smaller SUV or a hatch will cost less and park more easily. And if a premium cabin is the point of the trip for you, a German SUV will feel a step up inside, though it'll cost you more and give you less room. For value, space and a willing engine, the Blazer is the sensible pick.
