A Bestune T77 2024 rents in Dubai for less than most of the familiar-badge crossovers, and we'll bring it to your door in 1 to 2 hours with pay-on-delivery and even crypto accepted at handover. This is a Chinese compact SUV that trades a famous logo for a big, well-kitted cabin and a low daily rate. Our argument is straightforward: if you want an automatic SUV with room for five and a high seating position, and you don't need a premium name on the key, the T77 is one of the cheapest sensible ways to do it for a week here. It won't thrill you, but for city driving and airport runs it does the job without drama.
You're renting this over a Tucson or a Creta for one reason, and it's the rate. The T77 gives you a full compact-SUV footprint, an automatic gearbox, and a cabin that looks a class above its money, all for a daily figure that undercuts the mainstream Japanese and Korean crossovers. The interior is the surprise. Bestune leans hard on screen real estate and soft-touch surfaces, so it feels more expensive than it is when you climb in.
What you give up is the reassurance of a name you already trust and a dealer network you'll never need to visit on a rental anyway. For a week of Dubai driving, that trade tends to make sense.
Five seats, and unlike a lot of budget crossovers the back row is genuinely usable. Two adults sit comfortably behind two adults, and three kids across the rear works fine for the school run or a mall day. At 4525 mm long it's a proper compact SUV, not a jacked-up hatch pretending to be one.
The boot holds around 342 litres with the seats up. That's fair rather than generous. Two people with a large case each and a couple of soft bags will be fine, and folding the rear seats opens up a lot more for a bigger shop or a weekend away. For four adults arriving at DXB with full-size suitcases each, it'll be tight, and I'd point you at a mid-size SUV instead. For a couple or a small family, it swallows a week's worth of stuff without complaint.

The 1.5-litre turbo makes 160 hp through an automatic, driving the front wheels. That's ample for how this car gets used. It pulls away cleanly at the lights and has enough in reserve to merge onto Sheikh Zayed Road without feeling strained. Push it hard and it runs out of enthusiasm above 120, but that's not what this SUV is for.
The 48-litre tank means you're not living at the petrol station. Drive mostly around town with the AC running and you'll refuel maybe once or twice across a normal week, a bit more if you're doing daily highway distance. Fuel is cheap here, so even heavier city consumption won't sting.
Cabin cooling is the first thing anyone cares about in July. Parked in the sun at 45 degrees the T77 gets brutally hot inside, and the recovery is decent rather than instant. The front vents pull hard once you're moving, and the interior comes down to comfortable within a couple of minutes. On the hottest afternoons a windscreen shade earns its place, as it does in any car here.
At 176 mm of ground clearance it clears speed bumps and mall ramps without you holding your breath, and the raised seating makes tight multi-storey bays and Marina car parks easier to judge than a low sedan. It's front-wheel drive, so treat it as a road car. That clearance is for kerbs and bumps, not soft sand, so leave the desert to a proper 4x4.
Two practical notes. Salik tolls are charged to you as the renter each time you pass a gantry, and any RTA fine during your rental passes to you as well. A child seat is required by law for under-fours, and we'll fit one on request.
Rent the T77 2024 if you want an automatic SUV with real cabin space and a low weekly rate, and the badge genuinely doesn't matter to you. For a couple or a family doing city errands, mall runs and the odd airport pickup, it's honest, comfortable value.
Look elsewhere if you need a bigger boot for four adults and full luggage, or if highway pace and outright refinement are what you're paying for, in which case a Tucson or a mid-size SUV is worth the extra. And if resale-grade badge familiarity is what makes you comfortable behind the wheel, spend up. The T77 doesn't pretend to be a premium car. Judged as cheap, roomy, dependable transport for a Dubai week, it does exactly what you'd want.
