You hear this one before you see it. The Audi RS6 2023 we rent in Dubai is the styled, presence-first take on Audi's 600 hp super-wagon, finished in black with the kind of bodywork that turns heads in a hotel forecourt, and we'll have it at your door within 1 to 2 hours of booking. The twin-turbo V8 makes the noise and the speed, the estate shape keeps the boot and the back seat, and the look does the rest. The question this page settles is whether the drama is worth it for your week, and where the car stops making sense. It mostly does. There's one honest catch around town, and we'll get to it.
The RS6 runs Audi's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that quiets the stop-start and trims a little fuel at idle. It puts 600 hp through an eight-speed automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive, so every tyre shares the load. From rest it hits 100 km/h in about 3.6 seconds, which in a five-seat wagon is faintly ridiculous. The point in daily Dubai use isn't the launch, though. It's how little the car asks of you to go fast. An overtake on Sheikh Zayed Road happens the moment you think about it, and at 120 on the E11 the engine is barely awake.
Quattro and the wide track give it a planted, unflustered feel most renters won't have had in something this size. The air suspension keeps it flat through a fast sweep where an ordinary estate would lean.

This is the RS6's real argument, and it's the reason to take it over a fast coupe or a low supercar. The boot holds 548 litres, enough for two large suitcases and soft bags with room over, and folding the rear bench opens it right up to 1658 litres for a furniture run or a heavy week's shopping. Four adults sit properly, and the back is a real bench, so a child seat fits without a fight. Under-fours legally need one in Dubai. For an airport run to DXB or DWC with the whole group and their luggage, the wagon does what a two-seat exotic simply can't.
A 600 hp V8 drinks, and Dubai's traffic and heat push it harder than any official figure. On the 73-litre tank, mixed city and highway driving means refuelling every couple of days, sooner if you keep leaning on it, and an RS6 invites you to. Petrol here is cheap by world standards, so this lands as a convenience point rather than a cost shock, but if frequent fuel stops irritate you, factor it in.
The running costs that come with any rental are yours too. Salik tolls bill to your account as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fine during the rental passes to you. This car makes 140 feel like 90, which is exactly when the cameras catch people, so watch the limits.
Park it in the July sun at 45 degrees and it bakes like anything else, then recovers fast once you're moving. The climate system is strong, the front vents hit hard, and there are proper rear outlets so back-seat passengers aren't left to suffer. The seats are ventilated, which on a Dubai afternoon counts for more than any power figure. Let it run a minute or two on handover and it's comfortable before you've pulled away.
Here's the honest mark against it. The RS6 is wide and nearly five metres long, and the styled bodywork sits the nose low. In open valet that's nothing. In a tight Marina multi-storey, an older mall with narrow bays, or steep ramps, you'll be folding the mirrors, taking U-turns wide, and easing over speed bumps at an angle. The air suspension can lift the nose to clear a sharp ramp, which helps, but the width never disappears. If most of your week is squeezing into cramped residential parking, that's a real consideration before you book.
Rent this RS6 if you want the full theatre: a loud V8, genuine pace, the styled presence, and a boot and back seat that let you bring everyone. Nothing this fast is this practical, and nothing this practical looks this aggressive. It's built for the person who wants to arrive, go quick, and still do the airport run.
If your week is mostly calm city errands and the V8 noise isn't the point, save the fuel and the parking hassle and take a quieter A6 for the same badge and space. And if you want the same pace with SUV height and an easier time over rough ground, look at a Lamborghini Urus. For going fast in a car that carries the family and announces itself, the RS6 has almost no rival.
