Audi RS3 2023 - start from 737 AED / day

We rent the Audi RS3 2023 in Dubai to drivers who want a genuine 400 hp performance car they can still park at the mall, and we deliver it to your door in one to two hours with a no-deposit option if you'd rather not lock up a big hold on your card. This is the rare hot hatch that hits 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds yet behaves like a normal A3 in traffic. Our honest take: if you're booking it purely to enjoy the drive on Sheikh Zayed Road or a weekend blast out to Hatta, it's one of the best-value thrills on our fleet. If you need it to double as a family hauler, read the boot section before you commit.

The engine is the whole point

The RS3 runs Audi's 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder, and that engine is why people book this car specifically rather than a quick four-cylinder hatch. It makes 400 hp and 500 Nm, sends it to all four wheels through the Quattro system, and shifts via a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox. The five-cylinder layout gives it a warble you won't get anywhere else in the class, and the all-wheel-drive traction means you can actually use the power off the line instead of lighting up the front tyres.

On the E11 it pulls cleanly from 80 to 140 with no drama, so overtaking a slow truck on Sheikh Zayed Road is a flick of the right foot. In stop-and-go Marina traffic the dual-clutch is smooth once you're rolling, though like most DCTs it can feel a touch hesitant from a dead stop. That's the only manners complaint, and it's minor.

How often you'll stop for fuel

The tank holds 55 litres, which is small, and the RS3 is not a sipper. Drive it gently around the city and you'll see somewhere in the 9 to 11 litres per 100 km range. Lean on it the way most people who rent this car do, and that figure climbs fast. Realistically you're looking at a fill every three to four days of normal use, sooner if you spend your evenings enjoying the engine. For a week of mixed driving with a couple of airport runs to DXB, budget for two or three stops. That's the tax on 400 hp, and nobody books an RS3 expecting economy.

What the low ride height means in Dubai

Ground clearance sits at 121 mm, which is firmly on the low side. The RS3 rides hard and sits close to the road, both deliberate choices that make it handle the way it does. The flip side is you need to pay attention. Steep Marina car-park ramps, the sharper mall entrance lips, and some of the more aggressive speed bumps around the city call for a slow, square approach so you don't scrape the front lip. It's not fragile, but it's not a crossover either. Take the humps gently and you'll be fine.

This is also a road car through and through. The Quattro system gives it real grip on tarmac, but the low ride height and sticky tyres mean soft sand is out. If your weekend plan involves dune driving, rent a proper 4x4 and keep the RS3 for the asphalt, where it's brilliant.

Cabin, space and the heat

Inside, the RS3 is classic Audi: a clean digital instrument display, a crisp central screen, and proper materials where your hands land. It's a five-seater on paper, and the front two seats are excellent. The rear bench is fine for kids or two adults on a short hop, but headroom and knee room back there are tight for grown-ups on a longer run. Treat it as a comfortable two-plus-two and you'll never feel short-changed.

The boot is the honest limitation. At 282 litres it'll swallow a large case and a soft bag, or a weekly grocery run, but four adults arriving at the airport with full suitcases won't fit their luggage. Fold the rear seats and it opens up to 1104 litres, which is plenty if you're travelling light with one passenger.

On the heat: Dubai summers push past 45 degrees, and a car parked in that sun bakes. The RS3's climate system pulls a hot cabin down quickly once you're moving, the front vents are strong, and there are rear outlets so back-seat passengers aren't left to suffer. Give it a minute with the doors shut after pickup and it's comfortable.

The running costs that land on you

Salik tolls are charged to you as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours too. With 400 hp under your foot, that second point is worth taking seriously, because the speed cameras on Sheikh Zayed Road don't care how good the car sounds. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and a child seat is required by law for anyone under four, which we can fit on request.

Who should rent it

Rent the RS3 2023 if you want a true performance car for the week, you'll be the one driving most of the time, and you value the drive over outright practicality. For a couple, or a solo driver who wants something special, it's hard to beat for the money. The five-cylinder soundtrack alone justifies the booking.

Skip it if you're carrying four adults with luggage regularly, or if you need a relaxed, soft-riding cruiser for daily errands. In those cases an A6 or a Q5 will serve you far better. And if your week includes serious off-road plans, the low clearance rules the RS3 out for sand. Book it for what it is, a fast, sharp, properly engineered hot hatch, and it delivers every time you start it.
