Pull up outside a DIFC restaurant at sunset in an Aston Martin Vantage 2024 with the roof down, and heads turn without you needing a shout of an engine or a scissor door. This is a proper British sports car you rent in Dubai, not a badge-first supercar, and it makes its case through how it drives rather than how it poses at a valet stand. We deliver it to your hotel, villa or terminal, usually inside one to two hours of booking. Two seats, a snarling twin-turbo V8, rear-wheel drive and a fabric roof that folds in under seven seconds: this page settles whether that combination suits your week, or whether you need more room and less drama.
The Vantage runs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, built on a Mercedes-AMG block but tuned, cooled and mapped in house at Aston's own works to sound and respond like nothing wearing a three-pointed star. It sends 510 hp and 685 Nm to the rear wheels only, through an eight-speed ZF automatic, and gets to 100 km/h in about 3.8 seconds with the roof up, on to a claimed 305 km/h. Those numbers put it a step behind the quickest mid-engined supercars on offer here, and that is not really the point. What you notice first is the noise, low and mechanical rather than synthesized, and a throttle response that builds instead of hitting instantly the way the newer hybrid cars do.
Rear-wheel drive with this much torque asks for a light foot in the wet or off a cold start, and it rewards a driver who wants to feel the back end working through a bend rather than have all-wheel drive smooth the drama away. On Sheikh Zayed Road it settles into a long, easy cruise at 120 and still has a genuine gear or two left in reserve for a clean overtake. Treat it as a driver's car first and a status symbol a distant second, because that is exactly how Aston built it.

There is no back seat to argue about. It is you and one passenger, full stop, and the boot sits behind the engine and the roof mechanism at around 200 litres, noticeably smaller than a hardtop coupe's. That is enough for one soft holdall and a laptop bag, not a hard-shell suitcase off a DXB flight, so pack a duffel rather than wheeling cases out to the car. Anyone landing with a family's worth of luggage needs a different rental entirely.
Ground clearance is only around 100 mm, tight even by sports car standards, so treat steep mall ramps, tower car park entries and the sharper Marina speed bumps with a slow, angled approach rather than driving them flat. The upside is a car short enough to place accurately once you are actually in a bay, so the real challenge is the approach, not the space itself.
The fabric roof is one of the quickest folding tops sold here. It drops in under seven seconds and can be raised or lowered at speeds up to 50 km/h, so you can beat a red light before it changes. That is a genuinely useful trick in city traffic, not just a party piece.
Heat is the honest part of this experience in a Dubai summer. The car we hand over is black outside, and a dark, low cabin under direct sun climbs fast once it is parked at 45 degrees. Give the air conditioning a minute after you climb back in and it pulls the temperature down quickly, because there is not much air to chill in a two-seat cockpit, and both of you get the full blast with nobody sitting behind to share it. Roof-down driving is best kept to early mornings, evenings, or the cooler months from November through March. In peak summer, save the open-top runs for after dark and keep the roof up and the car in shade the rest of the time, because a fabric top left down over a parked black interior at noon turns the seats into a griddle.
Rent the Aston Martin Vantage 2024 if you are one or two people who want a genuine sports car for a week, not a showy supercar. It photographs beautifully and sounds even better, but it does not shout the way a Lamborghini or a Ferrari does at a valet stand, and for a lot of renters here that restraint is exactly the appeal. A slow loop along the coast at golden hour or a proper run out to Hatta with the roof down is what this car is built for. You will need to be at least 21 to take the keys, and because it rents in the supercar class it goes out against a refundable deposit rather than a no-deposit option. Mileage runs at 250 km a day, generous enough for a full week of driving around the emirate, with extra kilometres charged at a reasonable AED 0.5 each if you go further. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are on you, as they are with any car here.
Look elsewhere if you need to carry more than one passenger, a real load of luggage, or both at once. A Bentley Continental GT gives you two occasional rear seats and a bigger boot for a similar kind of drive. If four seats and genuine space matter more than the badge, Aston's own DBX does that job instead. But if the plan is just you, an empty passenger seat and a reason to hear a proper V8 on an open road, this is the one to book.
