A week in a Tesla Model 3 2020 can cost almost nothing to "fuel," and that's the real reason to rent one in Dubai. There's no petrol bill, just a plug, and most days you'll charge overnight and forget about it. We deliver it to your door fully charged with 250 km a day included, which covers commuting, errands and an airport run without you watching the meter. Our honest take: this rear-wheel-drive sedan is the cheapest enjoyable way to spend a week if you can charge where you sleep and you're fine with a cabin run almost entirely from one screen. If either of those is a problem, read on before you book, because the Model 3 splits people.
Electricity is where this car earns back its daily rate. A Dubai charge costs a fraction of a tank of petrol, and on the included 250 km a day you'll rarely add anything. The single-speed motor has no gearbox to service and the brakes barely wear, because lifting off the accelerator slows the car for you. None of that is your problem on a rental, but it's why the Model 3 feels effortless: less to go wrong, less to fuss over, less to pay for as you drive.
The catch sits in the charging habit. Plug in overnight at home or in your building's basement and you start every morning near full. Skip that, and you're planning public charges around your day, which some people find tedious. A petrol economy sedan refuels in five minutes anywhere, and for a renter who hates the idea of plugging in, that simplicity is worth more than the cheap running. Be honest with yourself on this one point and the rest of the decision gets easy.

Tesla's range figures come from a lab, so treat the headline number as a ceiling, not a promise. In a Dubai summer, with the AC pulling hard and some highway speed, plan for around 320 to 360 km on a full charge. That still clears a normal day with room to spare, and the 250 km a day in your booking is comfortably inside it. The only trip that needs a plan is a long Hatta or Abu Dhabi run, where you'd leave full and know your charging stop.
Charging itself is genuinely sorted in Dubai now. DEWA's chargers sit in malls, hotels and along the main roads, and a slow top-up while you eat or shop keeps a city car topped up indefinitely. For commuting and errands, you may never touch a public charger at all.
The instant torque is the part people underestimate until they feel it. There's no gear to wake up, so the car steps off the line the moment you press the pedal, and slotting into fast Sheikh Zayed Road traffic takes no run-up. Overtaking on the E11 is a flex of your foot, all in near silence.
Around town it's light to steer and easy to place. One-pedal driving feels odd for the first hour, then it becomes the natural way you drive, and stop-start traffic stops being a chore. This is a quick, calm car that flatters an ordinary commute.
Almost everything lives on the central touchscreen: climate, mirrors, even the glovebox. There's no dial in front of the wheel. Most people adapt within a day, but if you want physical buttons and a traditional dash, the minimalism will nag at you all week, and that's better known before you book than after.
On heat, the Model 3 does well. Park it in 45-degree sun and the AC drags the cabin down fast once you're moving, with strong front vents and rear vents so nobody in the back bakes. The best summer trick is pre-cooling from the Tesla app before you walk out, so you open the door to a cool car. The big glass roof looks great but soaks up heat when parked, which makes that pre-cool habit matter more here than in a metal-roofed car.
At 4.69 metres it's an easy size for the city. Marina ramps, tight multi-storey bays and U-turns are all simple thanks to light steering and a tight turning circle. The 140 mm clearance is normal sedan height, so take the sharper speed bumps and steep ramp lips slowly and nothing scrapes day to day.
The boot takes two large 23 kg cases plus a couple of soft bags, and the front frunk swallows a cabin bag or your charging cables on top. For a couple flying out of DXB or DWC, packing is no drama. Five adults each with a full case for a week will be tight, but for two people or a small family it's roomy enough.
Two charges are yours as the renter. Salik tolls are billed as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, so keep an eye on the speed reading, because the quiet pace makes it easy to drift over the limit. A child under four needs a seat by law, which we'll fit on request.
Rent the Model 3 2020 if you want the cheapest fun way to cover a Dubai week, you can charge where you stay, and a screen-led cabin doesn't bother you. For that renter it's one of the easiest cars we hand over, quick and quiet with almost nothing to spend as you drive. If plugging in sounds like a chore, or you can't picture a week without physical dials, take a petrol sedan instead and save the adjustment. This is a brilliant car for the right person and an irritation for the wrong one, and only you know which you are.
