Rent Mercedes E300 2023 in Dubai

A Mercedes E300 2023 rental sits in a specific spot in the range: bigger and calmer than a C-Class, a long way short of an S-Class's price and footprint. That gap is the whole argument for renting one. We get it to your Dubai door in one to two hours, in white, and the seat you're really paying for is the back one, not the driver's. If you want genuine executive space for four and a ride that settles down past 120, without the flagship bill, this is the car. If you're travelling solo and mostly parking in tight multi-storey bays, read on before you commit.

The engine, and how it drives

The E300 in our Dubai fleet for the 2023 model year is the W213 generation E-Class, the shape Mercedes had been building since 2016 and sharpened in a 2020 facelift. Mercedes launched an all-new W214 E-Class globally in 2023, but that redesign didn't reach GCC showrooms until the following year, so a genuine 2023 model E300 here is the well proven outgoing car, not the new one. That's not a downgrade. It's a chassis and a cabin Mercedes had fully sorted by the time this one left the factory.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four, the M264, making 245 hp and 370 Nm, sent through a nine-speed automatic to the rear wheels only. There's no 4MATIC on this one. Zero to 100 km/h takes 6.2 seconds, quick enough to slot into a gap on Sheikh Zayed Road without planning it three seconds ahead, and the car settles into a genuinely quiet cruise once you're past 120. Rear-wheel drive on dry Dubai tarmac isn't something you'll miss, and the trade-off is a car that turns in a shade more eagerly than an all-wheel-drive S-Class does.

Boot, back seat and the daily use

This is the part that actually explains why you'd pick an E300 over a C-Class. The wheelbase runs to 2,939 mm, noticeably longer than a C-Class's, and nearly all of that extra length goes into rear legroom. Two adults in the back on an airport run sit with real space to stretch, not the knees-up compromise of a compact saloon. It doesn't chase the S-Class's limousine feel, that car adds another 167 mm of wheelbase, but for a client pickup or a week of meetings, the E300's back seat does the job without the flagship money.

The boot holds 540 litres, honestly enough for two large cases and a soft bag with room to spare, and the opening is a normal saloon lid rather than anything awkward to load. Four adults with a full set of airport luggage will use most of it up. For a couple or two adults travelling with the usual carry-on and one hold case each, it's generous.

At 4,923 mm long it's a genuine full-size saloon, not something that threads a tight Marina bay without a glance over your shoulder, though reverse cameras and sensors on this class do most of that work for you. Ground clearance sits around 120 mm, enough for mall ramps and speed bumps around the city without a scrape at a normal pace.

The mileage deal, fuel and cabin heat

The mileage allowance on this car is 4,500 km, and it's worth understanding how that works: it's a total for the whole rental, not a daily figure that resets each morning. Rent it for a weekend and you'll barely touch it. Rent it for two or three weeks of daily driving, work trips, school runs, the usual errands, and keep half an eye on the odometer, because 4,500 km across three weeks works out to roughly 210 km a day, tighter than the 250 to 300 km daily caps some other cars on our fleet quote. Go over and it's AED 1 per additional kilometre, simple to track. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are down to you, the same as on every car we hand over.

The 66-litre tank and a rated 6.3 to 6.9 L/100km combined give a lab-figure range north of 900 km, but that's not what you'll see with the air conditioning working hard in August traffic. Budget closer to 650 to 700 km of real driving between fill-ups, still enough that a week of city use means one, maybe two stops.

The cabin is a proper mid-size saloon, big enough that the front vents take a little longer than a hatchback's to pull the heat out of it, but the climate system is strong and rear passengers get their own vents and controls, so the back seat cools on its own terms. Give it two or three minutes after you climb back in before the cabin feels normal again.

Who should rent it, and who should look elsewhere

Rent the E300 if what you actually want is the back seat, the quiet at speed, and a car that reads as a proper Mercedes saloon, without paying S-Class money to get there. It's the sensible middle of the range: more space and presence than a C-Class, most of the comfort of the flagship, at a price that sits well under either extreme.

Look elsewhere in two cases. If you're travelling solo or as a pair on mostly short city trips, a C-Class does the same job for less and won't leave you watching the mileage counter as closely. And if the back seat is the entire point of your booking, a client pickup or a proper airport transfer, the extra wheelbase and larger boot on an S-Class are worth the jump if your budget stretches. As a premium saloon this one comes with the standard insurance and excess rather than a no-deposit option, and you'll need to be at least 21 to take the keys.
