Lamborghini Urus 2022 - start from 2,807 AED / day

Few cars handle the school run, a Hatta day trip and a five-star valet line as convincingly as the Lamborghini Urus 2022, and we rent it in Dubai with 250 km a day included so you can actually use all of it. This is the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 super-SUV, 641 hp, four usable seats and a proper boot, and our argument here is simple: it's one of the very few cars that genuinely does everything. Supercar pace and supercar presence, but with the space and ride height to cross the country. That breadth is the whole point, and it's also where you have to be honest about what it costs you to live with for a week.

What you're actually renting

The Urus pairs a 641 hp engine with all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic, and it hits 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Those are numbers you feel from the first roundabout. What surprises people is how usable the rest of it is. Four adults sit in real comfort, the rear seats aren't a token gesture, and the boot swallows a week's luggage without anyone arguing about whose bag stays home.

Read the table as reference. The decisions are in the prose below.

On Sheikh Zayed Road and the long runs

This is where the Urus earns its keep. On the E11 it pulls from a roll with no drama, overtakes are over before you've finished thinking about them, and at a steady 120 it feels planted and quiet enough for a long stint. The presence is real too. People move over. For a DXB or DWC airport pickup with someone you want to impress, or a run up to Abu Dhabi and back, it covers ground faster and more comfortably than almost anything else with five doors.

Off the tarmac it's more capable than most owners ever test. The air suspension lifts to 248 mm, so a graded desert track or a Hatta mountain road is well within reach. You won't go dune-bashing in a rental, and you shouldn't, but the clearance and the AWD mean rough access roads and steep ramps don't faze it.

The thirst, and how often you'll stop

Be ready for this. A 641 hp V8 driven the way the Urus invites you to drive it is not economical, and Dubai's stop-start traffic makes it worse. Expect somewhere around 6 km per litre in real city use, which means the 85-litre tank gives you roughly 510 km between fills if you're gentle, and noticeably less if you're not. On a busy week you'll see the fuel station often. That's part of the deal with this car, and if frequent refuelling annoys you, it's the clearest sign you want a calmer luxury SUV.

Living with the width and the low nose

The Urus is just over two metres wide and more than five metres long, so Dubai's tighter spaces ask for attention. Marina towers and older mall car parks have bays and ramps that don't flatter a car this size. The cameras and sensors are good, and you'll lean on them. The front sits low for an SUV, so steep ramp lips and aggressive speed bumps want a slow, square approach. Raise the suspension when you're crawling over a bump-heavy community road and you'll save the front lip a scrape. None of this is a dealbreaker. It's just the homework that comes with the footprint.

Heat, cooling and the Dubai basics

In a Dubai summer the cabin bakes when it's parked, and at 45 degrees the first minute after you get in is unpleasant in any car. The Urus cools quickly once moving, the front vents are strong, and rear passengers get their own air, so a full cabin stays comfortable on a long drive. Give it a minute with the doors shut before you expect miracles.

The usual rules apply and they're brief. Salik tolls run up on the gate-heavy routes and they're the renter's responsibility, as are any RTA fines, and the network catches speed quickly, which matters a great deal in a car this fast. Belts are mandatory in every seat. Stricter security terms may apply on a car at this value, so confirm the details when you book.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Urus 2022 if you want one car to do everything for a week in Dubai: the airport collection, the highway miles, the desert-edge day out and the night where presence matters, all without swapping vehicles or sacrificing four real seats and a usable boot. Nothing else in the luxury-SUV space combines this pace with this much practicality.

Skip it if your week is mostly short city hops and tight residential parking, or if the fuel stops and firm ride will wear on you. A quieter, softer luxury SUV gives you the badge and comfort with far less effort. The Urus is brilliant because it doesn't compromise on performance, and that's the thing you have to want before you book.
