A Dodge Charger 2022 doesn't drive like the Camry or Sonata sitting next to it in the same rental bracket. This is a rear-wheel-drive, V6-powered, nearly 5.1-metre American sedan, built on a different formula than the front-wheel-drive cars it gets cross-shopped against on price in Dubai. Book it and we'll have it at your door in one to two hours, hotel, villa or the airport curb, no detour through a rental counter first. What this page settles is whether that size and character actually suit your week, because the Dodge Charger 2022's mileage allowance is generous for a short stay and genuinely punishing if you get the math wrong.
This car runs the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, the engine behind the GT badge and the one that actually shows up in Dubai rental fleets. It makes 300 hp and 358 Nm, sent through an 8-speed automatic to the rear wheels only, no all-wheel drive on this one. Dodge's own figures put 0-100 km/h at just under seven seconds, brisk rather than fast, but the way the power arrives feels different from a four-cylinder Accord or Altima doing the same job. It builds smoothly rather than hunting for the right gear, and because the drive goes to the back wheels instead of the front, the weight balance and the way the car settles into a bend feel closer to a smaller, sportier car than to a typical family sedan.
Worth knowing before you book: the Charger lineup also runs 5.7, 6.4 and 6.2-litre V8 versions, up to the supercharged Hellcat. This isn't that car. It's the V6 GT, and if the reason you want a Charger is the deep V8 idle at a red light, confirm the engine when you book rather than assuming.

Five seats and a proper back bench, not the cramped 2+2 you get in a Camaro or a Mustang. Rear legroom on a car this long is genuinely usable, two adults sit comfortably for an airport run or a night out, not just for a short hop across town. The boot holds about 455 litres, enough for two large cases and a bag or two on top, a fair week's luggage for a couple without anyone needing to fold a seat down.
Ground clearance sits at 132 mm, on the low side for Dubai's speed bumps and steeper mall ramps. Take them at an angle rather than head on and it's a non-issue, ignore them and you'll hear it. At just over five metres long and 1.9 metres wide, this isn't a car that threads through tight multi-storey bays without some care, so lean on the reversing camera in Marina towers and mall basements.
Heat is the question everyone asks in summer, and a cabin this size needs real airflow to bring down. It gets it. Climb back in after a couple of hours parked at 45 degrees and the front vents pull the temperature down fast once the AC is running on max, and rear passengers get their own vents rather than whatever drifts back from the front. Salik tolls on any road you use and RTA fines during the rental are the renter's responsibility, same as on any car we hand over, and seat belts are mandatory in every seat, with a child seat required for anyone under four.
This is the part that decides whether the Charger is the right car for your trip. The rental includes 4,500 km for the whole booking, not per day, and once you're over that line, every extra kilometre costs AED 10. That's a steep rate by any measure, so it's worth doing the arithmetic before you drive off.
For a typical week in Dubai, city errands, a couple of Sheikh Zayed Road runs, an airport pickup, 4,500 km is more allowance than most renters will use. Spread over seven days that's roughly 640 km a day, generous for local driving. The number gets tight fast on a longer booking or if you're covering serious ground: repeated Abu Dhabi runs, daily long commutes, a road trip itinerary added on top of city use. Go 50 km over and that's an extra AED 500 on the final bill, on top of whatever the week already cost. If your plans include real distance, track the odometer as you go rather than finding out at drop-off.
Rent the Dodge Charger 2022 if you want a full-size American sedan that actually drives like one: rear-wheel drive, V6 pull, real road presence, for a week of city driving, airport runs and E11 cruising with mileage to spare. Two adults with proper luggage are comfortable, and the back seat holds up for a third or fourth passenger better than most sporty cars in its price range.
Look elsewhere if fuel economy matters to you. The V6 runs close to 10.7 L/100km, thirstier than most four-cylinder sedans in the same bracket, and if you're planning to cover serious distance across the week, the AED 10 per-km overage makes that expensive fast. You'll need to be at least 21 to take the keys. If it's mainly a family-hauling week with three kids and a boot full of shopping, a bigger SUV suits that better than a low, wide sedan built around a V6 and rear-wheel drive.
