The Dodge Challenger 2021 has a back seat and a boot that actually work, which is more than you can say for its two closest rivals. A Camaro treats the rear bench as somewhere to put a jacket, and a Mustang isn't much better. This Challenger's longer, wider body leaves real legroom back there and a 459-litre boot that swallows more than a weekend bag. We get it to your door in Dubai in one to two hours, no counter stop first. That practical edge is the reason to read past the spec sheet: this is the muscle coupe you can put four people in for a short run, not just two and a photo stop.

This car carries the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, not one of the V8s Dodge sold under the same badge. It makes 305 hp and 363 Nm, sends it through an 8-speed automatic to the rear wheels, and gets to 100 km/h in around 6.5 seconds. That's quick enough to matter and honest about what it is. If you booked this expecting a V8 burble at the lights, that's the R/T or the Scat Pack, not the SXT you're looking at here, so check the engine on the listing rather than assuming from the name alone.
What you actually notice from the driver's seat is the balance. Rear-wheel drive and a long, low nose give it a planted feel through a fast on-ramp that a front-drive sedan in the same price range can't match, and the automatic changes gears smoothly instead of hunting through them in Sheikh Zayed Road traffic. It isn't trying to be a track weapon. It's a relaxed, muscular cruiser that happens to look like it's spoiling for a fight at every red light.
Here's where the Challenger earns its keep against the cars people naturally compare it to. Its cabin is built on a bigger footprint than a Camaro or a Mustang, and that shows up directly in the back seat: two adults can sit there for a short hop across the city without their knees hitting the front seatback, which isn't something you can promise in either rival. It's still a 2+2 in practice, so a full week of ferrying four adults everywhere will wear thin, but for the school run, a dinner with friends, or picking someone up from the mall, the rear bench genuinely works.
The boot follows the same pattern. At roughly 459 litres it's noticeably deeper than the trunk you get in most sports coupes, enough for two large cases stacked rather than the usual one-bag squeeze. Ground clearance sits at 132 mm, low by SUV standards, so take Marina ramps, mall exits and speed bumps at an angle rather than head on, and give the long doors extra swing room in a tight multi-storey bay.
Black paint over a black interior looks sharp parked outside a hotel, and it's also the combination that heats up fastest under a Dubai August sun. Expect the cabin to run hotter than a lighter-coloured car after an hour on the tarmac, and give the AC a minute longer than usual once you climb back in before it feels normal. The front vents pull the temperature down quickly; the rear vents, tucked under the centre console, move less air, which matters less here since the back seat rarely carries an adult for the whole drive anyway.
Fuel economy runs around 10.2 L/100km combined, and on the 70-litre tank that's about 680 km of range, thirstier than a four-cylinder sedan but reasonable for a naturally aspirated V6. The rental includes 250 km a day, and anything past that costs AED 0.5 per kilometre. A week of city driving, a Sheikh Zayed Road run and an airport transfer usually stays inside that limit, but a side trip to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain on top of your normal week will push you close, so it's worth watching the odometer rather than guessing at drop-off. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are the renter's responsibility, and seat belts are required in every seat, with a child seat mandatory for anyone under four.
Rent the Dodge Challenger 2021 if you want the drive itself along with a back seat and boot you can actually use, whether that's two adults and occasional rear passengers, or a couple with luggage for the airport. As a performance coupe it likely carries a refundable deposit, so don't book it expecting the no-deposit terms you'd get on an economy hatchback, and you'll need to be at least 25 to take the keys.
Look elsewhere if you need four adults comfortable for a full week or you're planning big-mileage days that will chew through the AED 0.5 per-km overage. A mid-size SUV does that job better. This one is for the renter who wants a proper V6, rear-wheel drive, and a coupe that can still carry a family of four for an evening out, which is more than its rivals can say.
