Bmw 730 2024 - start from 588 AED / day

The BMW 730 2024 is the flagship 7 Series for the person who actually wants to drive it. We rent the BMW 730 2024 across Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours, so the full-size BMW lands outside your building the same morning you book it. The argument here is straightforward. You get the long-wheelbase presence, the 375 hp inline-six and the quiet limousine cabin, but you sit up front and enjoy it yourself rather than booking a chauffeur car you never use as one. For a week of business travel where you're the one behind the wheel, this is the BMW that makes sense.

What's driving it

Under the long bonnet sits a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol with a 48V mild hybrid, making 375 hp through an 8-speed Steptronic automatic and rear-wheel drive. On the move that combination is the whole appeal. The six is smooth and strong from low revs, so pulling onto Sheikh Zayed Road or clearing a slow lane on the E11 takes a light foot, not a hard one. The mild hybrid smooths the stop-start grind of Dubai traffic and trims fuel use when you're crawling toward a Salik gate.

This is a rear-drive car with real shove, but it never feels nervous. It's tuned to glide, and at a steady highway cruise it's about as relaxed as a sedan gets here.

The power figure isn't really the story. 375 hp in a sedan this size is plenty, and you'll rarely use half of it. What you're paying for is the way it covers ground and the room inside, so that's where the judgment goes.

Living with the length day to day

At 5,391 mm this is a long car, and you feel that most in a tight Marina multi-storey or a packed mall bay. Use the cameras and sensors rather than your mirrors and the awkward spots become routine. The 136 mm of ground clearance is normal sedan height, so take steep ramp lips and the sharper speed bumps slowly and square on. This is firmly a tarmac car. No sand, no rough Hatta tracks.

Out on the open road the length flips from liability to asset. The 730 tracks dead straight on the E11, soaks up the patched older sections of Dubai tarmac that smaller cars thud across, and stays quiet enough to take a call at speed. For DXB and DWC airport runs it's effortless, and the boot takes two large 23kg cases plus a soft bag, which covers a solo business trip comfortably. The seats don't fold flat, so if you're moving four full-size suitcases for a family relocation, that's not what this car is for.

The seat you'll spend the week in

Most of this car's length lands where it counts, and even as the driver you benefit. The front seats are wide and supportive on a long cruise, the driving position is commanding, and the cabin materials are the kind you notice every time you get in. Rear legroom is generous if you do put colleagues or family back there, but the point of the 730 over a smaller executive sedan is that the whole car feels unhurried, front seat included.

Heat, and how the cabin copes

A flagship cabin holds a big volume of air, and a Dubai July leaves that parked car oven-hot before you touch the door. The 730's air conditioning is strong, and it runs independent rear climate zones with their own vents, so anyone in the back isn't waiting on the front to feel relief. Give it a couple of minutes after a midday stop and it pulls a 45C cabin down to comfortable. The darker metallic colours that suit this car also drink up heat, so if it'll sit out between meetings, ask us about parking it shaded or starting the AC at handover.

Fuel and the weekly running cost

Be realistic about a big petrol six. The city figure is 7 km/L and the highway figure is 11 km/L, so a week of mixed Dubai driving with the AC working hard sits toward the city end. The 48V mild hybrid takes the edge off the stop-and-go, but this is still a heavy luxury sedan and it drinks accordingly. The upside is the 74-litre tank. Even on city running that's enough range that a week of meetings and a couple of airport runs won't have you hunting for a station. One full tank covers a lot of Dubai.

A few rules carry to whoever holds the keys. Salik toll gates are billed to the renter, any RTA fines pass through to you, and seatbelts are mandatory in every seat.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the 730 if you want the 7 Series flagship as a car to drive, not to be driven in: a week of business travel, long highway days, airport runs where you arrive in something that looks the part and you're the one at the wheel. It's quick, quiet and properly comfortable, and the doorstep delivery means it's outside your door within a couple of hours.

If the back seat is the actual reason you're booking, with a chauffeur and a client behind, the 740 with its bigger range buffer is the closer fit. And if your week is mostly tight city errands or any off-tarmac plans, this much car is more than you need. For the self-driving executive who wants the full-size BMW experience, the 730 is the right call.
