Want a luxury saloon with a sharper shape than the usual three-box sedan? We rent the Audi A7 2021 across Dubai, and our no-deposit option means you can have one at your door without parking a chunk of cash with us first. The A7 is a five-door fastback, a four-door coupe with a long sloping roofline and a wide hatchback boot hiding under it. Under the bonnet sits a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 with mild-hybrid assist, around 335 hp through quattro all-wheel drive. This page is about one decision: whether that style-led shape is the right grand tourer for your week here, or whether you'd be better off in something taller or roomier.
The A7 is the glamorous cousin of the A6. Same mechanical bones, same cabin tech, but a body that drops toward the rear like a coupe and finishes in a tailgate rather than a conventional boot lid. People rent it because it looks more expensive than it costs to hire, and it carries that look without much penalty in practicality.
The 55 TFSI badge means the 3.0 V6, not the four-cylinder plug-in or any of the hotter S and RS cars. With the mild-hybrid system smoothing the stop-start and feeding a little torque on pull-away, it does 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.3 seconds and runs to an electronically limited 250 km/h. That's quick, but the car isn't trying to be a sports car. It's tuned for effortless distance, happy to sit at the limit on Sheikh Zayed Road and overtake without you thinking about it.

This is the A7's strongest argument. The dashboard runs two stacked touchscreens, climate and seat controls on the lower one, navigation and media up top. It feels like a far pricier car inside, and the materials hold up to a Dubai summer well.
On cooling, the V6 has the AC muscle to deal with a parked car baked at 45°C. Give it a few minutes with the fans up and the front comes down properly. There are rear vents, so back-seat passengers aren't left to suffer on an airport run. Park in shade where you can and the cool-down is quicker still.
Here's where the fastback shape pays off. That sloping rear is a tailgate, not a small boot lid, so the opening is wide and the load floor is long. Two large suitcases and a couple of soft bags go in without a fight, and dropping the rear seats opens up real luggage room for a longer trip.
The catch is the roofline, not the boot. Rear headroom is tighter than the A6 because the roof curves down. Two adults in the back are fine for a city drive or a DXB run, but a tall passenger on a long journey will notice it, and three across is a squeeze for grown adults. If you regularly carry four full-size adults, an A6 or a sedan keeps everyone happier.
The 73-litre tank is generous. On a normal week of mixed Dubai driving, you'll refill maybe once, twice if you're commuting far or running to the airports often. The V6 isn't frugal in stop-start traffic, so city economy sits at the lower end, but on the highway it settles into the mid-teens and makes long cruises cheap on stops. Range on a tank lands around 750 km in real use, less if you spend the week crawling through Marina traffic.
At nearly five metres long, the A7 is a big car to thread into a tight multi-storey bay. The parking sensors and camera do the heavy lifting, but scout a slightly larger space rather than wedge it into the smallest one. Ground clearance is modest at 106 mm, so take sharper speed bumps and steep ramp transitions slowly. The A7 can scrape on an aggressive Marina ramp if you charge it.
On the open road it's in its element. The quattro grip and long wheelbase make E11 cruising relaxed and airport runs to DXB or DWC genuinely pleasant. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your hire pass to you, and seat belts are required in every seat.
Rent the A7 if you want presence and a beautiful cabin for two, with the practicality of a big hatchback boot. It suits couples, solo business travellers, and anyone doing airport runs and highway miles who wants to arrive looking sharp. It's a comfort-and-style grand tourer, not a track toy, and it's all the better for being honest about that.
Skip it if rear-seat space is your priority. The sloping roof costs headroom, so for four adults on a regular basis the A6 is the smarter pick, and if you want a higher seating position and more clearance for family loads, step up to an SUV. For everyone else who wants a luxury saloon that turns heads, the A7 is the one to book.
