Cross-shop Dubai's executive-sedan rental fleet and three names keep coming up: the Audi A6, the Mercedes C300, and the BMW 5 Series. Book the Audi A6 2021 and you're picking the car that sits in the middle of that trio, quieter and more settled at speed than the C300, and priced under what a 5 Series usually commands for a comparable week. We deliver it to your Dubai door, hotel or office, in black, usually within one to two hours of booking. The real question isn't whether the A6 is a capable car. It's whether that middle position between the two rivals people cross-shop it against is actually where you want to be.
Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 245 hp and 370 Nm, paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic sending power to the front wheels. Audi does sell a quattro all-wheel-drive grade of this same engine in the UAE, but it's a separate, pricier trim, not the car in this fleet. Zero to 100 km/h takes 6.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h, numbers that land closer to the C300 than the heavier 5 Series. The S tronic gearbox shifts quickly enough that merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road never feels like a scramble. Where the A6 actually pulls ahead of the C300 is at a cruise: past 120 km/h the cabin stays quiet and the car feels settled rather than busy, the trait that makes people compare it to the 5 Series in the first place even though the Audi undercuts it on price.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Engine | 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 petrol (TFSI) |
| Power | 245 hp |
| Torque | 370 Nm |
| Transmission | 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic |
| Drive | Front-wheel drive |
| 0-100 km/h | 6.8 seconds |
| Top speed | 250 km/h (electronically limited) |
| Seats | 5 |
| Boot | 530 litres |
| Fuel economy | About 6.9 L/100km combined |
| Fuel tank | 63 litres |
| Range | Around 650 km on a tank |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 4,939 x 1,886 x 1,457 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,924 mm |
| Colour | Black |
The boot holds 530 litres, a flat, deep sedan space that takes two large cases and a laptop bag without any repacking, which covers a DXB or DWC pickup for two comfortably. It's a bigger boot than you'll find on the smaller-class C300, and close enough to what the 5 Series offers that boot space alone won't decide the comparison. The back seat, on a 2,924 mm wheelbase, gives two adults real leg and headroom for a ride from the airport to a Downtown hotel, though the middle seat is better used for a jacket than a third adult on anything longer than a short hop. This is exactly where the 5 Series pulls ahead: its longer wheelbase buys noticeably more rear legroom, so if the back seat is the actual point of the booking rather than the badge or the drive, that extra size is worth paying for. For one or two people handling their own driving through the week, the A6's cabin and boot do the job without asking you to trade up.
Audi quotes combined fuel economy around 6.9 L/100km for this engine, a lab figure. A week of Dubai stop-start traffic with the AC working hard pushes real-world consumption closer to 9 or 10 L/100km. The 63-litre tank still covers roughly 650 km between fills at that rate, so a normal business week means one stop at the pump rather than several. Black is the one place this car asks a little more of its climate system than a lighter-coloured A6 would. A dark cabin left in direct sun through a Dubai afternoon runs hotter than a white or silver one, so expect the first few minutes after you climb back in to feel genuinely warm before the front vents pull the temperature down. Once it's cooled, the cabin holds that comfort well on the move, and rear passengers get their own vents and controls, useful if you're regularly carrying a colleague or client rather than driving alone. Salik tolls on any gate you cross and RTA fines picked up during the rental both land on the renter, and seat belts are mandatory in every seat.
Rent the Audi A6 2021 if you want the middle ground in the executive-sedan trio: quieter and more composed at speed than the C300, and sized and priced under the 5 Series. It's sharp enough inside that nobody questions the choice at a client meeting. It suits one or two people doing their own driving through a working week, airport pickups included, more than it suits four adults with a week of luggage between them. Look elsewhere if the back seat itself is the actual reason for the rental. A 5 Series or a genuine flagship gives you more room to be driven in. And if price is the only variable that matters, the C300 undercuts the A6 for a smaller, lighter car that does the basic commuting job for less. As a premium sedan, the A6 rents against a refundable deposit rather than a no-deposit deal, so budget for that at booking. Your daily allowance is 250 km, extra kilometres cost AED 0.5 each, and you need to be 25 to take the keys.
