We hand over the Audi A6 2021 at your door in Dubai, usually inside one to two hours of booking, and it tends to suit the renter who wants one car to do everything for the week. This is the all-rounder of the executive class. It commutes without fuss, swallows a family weekend, and gets to the airport in comfort, and it does each of those jobs about equally well. If you have been weighing a big SUV against a smaller sedan and want something that splits the difference sensibly, the A6 is the car that quietly handles all of it. The point of this page is to tell you whether that flexibility actually fits your week, or whether you'd be paying for size you won't use.
This is the 45 TFSI: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 245 horsepower, an automatic gearbox, and front-wheel drive. Five seats, full-size sedan footprint, and a boot that matters more than the engine for most renters.

The numbers that decide your rental aren't the headline power figure. They're the 530-litre boot, the 73-litre tank, and the near-five-metre length. So that's where the rest of this page spends its time.
Yes, and that's the whole case for it. The 245 hp engine has more than enough for a daily run up Sheikh Zayed Road, and you're never short of overtaking pull when you need to move out and pass a slow truck. It's an easy car to settle into for a 40-minute crawl through morning traffic. The automatic is smooth in stop-start, the seats hold up over an hour, and the front-wheel drive keeps things predictable rather than sporty, which is exactly what you want on a commute.
For family duty it's just as comfortable. Three adults across the back is genuinely fine, not the squeeze you get in a smaller sedan, and there are rear air vents to keep the back seat livable when it's 45 outside. Child seats clip in on the rear bench without drama, and under-fours legally need one in Dubai. If your week is half office runs and half taking the family out, this car doesn't ask you to compromise on either.
The 530-litre boot is the quiet reason this car earns its keep. For a DXB or DWC run with a family, you can load two large suitcases and a couple of cabin bags and still close the lid without rearranging anything. That's a real margin over the compact executive sedans, where the third case starts a fight. The boot opening is wide and the floor is flat, so loading is easy even when you've parked nose-in at a busy terminal drop-off. For a couple's weekend it's frankly overkill, which is fine, but it's the kind of overkill you're glad of on the trip you didn't plan for.
A car parked in open sun here gets brutally hot, and the honest test of any rental in summer is how fast it recovers. The A6 cools well. Set it to low, give the front vents a couple of minutes, and the cabin is comfortable before you're out of the car park. Rear passengers get their own vents, which matters more than people expect on a family trip. This is a car built for a cooler climate, but the cooling has the headroom to cope with a Dubai August, and you won't be driving the first ten minutes with the windows down to clear the heat.
On the tank, the 73-litre capacity and the official 7 L/100km figure look generous, but be realistic. In Dubai mixed driving, with the AC working hard and a fair bit of city crawl, expect closer to 9 to 10 L/100km. That still gives you a comfortable week of normal use between fill-ups, and you're not making detours to a petrol station. Salik tolls are billed to you as the renter, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you too, so keep an eye on the gantries on your usual route.
Parking is the one place the size shows. At nearly five metres long this is a full-size sedan, and tight multi-storey bays and Marina ramps need a bit of care. The parking sensors and camera do most of the work, and the turning circle is reasonable for the length, but if your week is mostly squeezing into cramped Old Dubai bays, you'll notice it. On open roads and airport runs, the size is all upside.
Rent the A6 2021 if you want one car that genuinely does everything for a week: a calm commute, a comfortable family, and an airport run with room to spare. It's the sensible middle ground, and the safety kit and tech you get for this class make it good value rather than flash. If you're solo or a couple staying central and parking in tight bays all week, you're paying for boot space and length you won't use, and a smaller sedan will be easier to live with. And if you specifically need all-wheel drive for confidence in the wet or want the quicker quattro, this front-drive 45 TFSI isn't that car. For most people balancing work, family, and travel in one booking, though, it's the easy pick.
