Audi A4 Allroad 2024 - start from 442 AED / day

Renting the Audi A4 Allroad 2024 in Dubai works without a deposit on the booking, which is rarer than it should be for a premium German wagon. We hand over the keys at your door, and you skip the held card most desks insist on. The A4 Allroad is the raised, quattro version of the A4 estate, so the pitch here is simple. You get the long flat boot of a wagon, all-wheel-drive grip, and a quiet, well-finished cabin, with a slightly higher ride than the standard A4 and a premium badge, all without committing to a full SUV. It is a niche pick, and below I lay out who it suits and who should choose something else.

What you actually get for the money

This is an estate, not a sedan, and that is the whole point. The roofline runs flat to the tailgate, so the boot is long and square rather than tapered like a saloon. Behind the rear seats you have around 495 litres, which swallows a week's worth of bags for two with room to spare. Drop the back seats and it opens up to roughly 1,495 litres, which is genuine furniture-and-flatpack territory.

The Allroad part means a raised ride and quattro all-wheel drive as standard. Audi quotes about 139 mm of ground clearance, a touch more than a normal A4. That extra height helps over Dubai's higher speed bumps and steeper mall ramps, where a low sedan can scrape. Do not read it as off-road clearance. This is a road car that sits a little taller, not a 4x4. The quattro system is there for grip and stability at speed, not for dune bashing.

The numbers describe the car. What matters is how they read on a Dubai week, so here is the interpretation.

Will my luggage fit

For most renters, yes, comfortably. Two large hard cases sit flat in the boot with a soft bag or two on top, and you still see out of the rear window. That is the advantage of a wagon over a sedan of the same class, where cases go in at an angle and eat the space fast. Four adults flying in with a full set of cases is fine too, since the long floor takes the bags the rear seats cannot. If you are moving house, fold the seats and the flat 1,495-litre floor does serious work.

Fuel, refuelling and the open road

The 2.0-litre turbo with the mild-hybrid setup is efficient for a car this size and quick. Audi's combined figure is around 6.0 L/100km, and in real Dubai driving, with AC on and some Sheikh Zayed Road cruising, expect a little more. With a 58-litre tank you are looking at a comfortable range for a week of mixed driving, and most renters fill once, maybe twice, depending on how far they roam.

On the E11 the Allroad is in its element. The quattro grip and the long wheelbase make it stable and quiet at a cruise, and 204 hp with 7.3 seconds to 100 km/h is enough to overtake a slow truck without drama. Airport runs to DXB or the longer haul to DWC are easy, and the boot takes the arrivals luggage that defeats a smaller car.

Heat, AC and the daily reality

A parked cabin in a Dubai July is brutal, and the Allroad copes the way you would expect from a car at this level. The AC pulls a baked interior down to bearable within a few minutes, faster once you are moving, and there are rear vents so back-seat passengers are not left to suffer. The glass area is large, so park in shade where you can. The cabin itself is the quiet, solidly built Audi interior, which is a real part of what you are paying for on long highway stints.

Parking, tolls and the rules

At 4,762 mm long it is a sizeable car, longer than the A4 sedan feels because of the wagon tail. In tight multi-storey bays and on Marina ramps you will use the parking sensors and camera, and reversing into a narrow slot takes a moment of care. The 139 mm clearance clears most bumps cleanly, but take the sharper ones slowly.

Salik tolls run on your account during the rental, and any RTA fines pass to you, so drive to the limits and watch the speed cameras. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can arrange.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the A4 Allroad if you want estate space and a premium cabin without the bulk of an SUV, and you value a wagon's flat, long boot for luggage or gear. It is the right call for the driver who does highway miles, wants quattro grip, and likes the lower, car-like feel over a tall crossover.

Look elsewhere in two cases. If you want a commanding seating position, real height, or anything beyond mild track use, an SUV gives you more of all three. And if you only need to move people and a couple of bags around the city, a standard A4 sedan or a smaller car costs less to rent and parks more easily. The Allroad earns its place when the boot and the all-wheel drive both matter to you. If only one does, something cheaper will do the job.
