Audi A4 Allroad 2021 - start from 321 AED / day

We rent the Audi A4 Allroad 2021 in Dubai, and we'll take payment however suits you on delivery: card, cash, or a wallet tap on Apple Pay or Google Pay, settled at your door rather than upfront at a desk. That flexibility matters less, though, than what this car actually is. The A4 Allroad is the rare premium estate, a quattro wagon with a slightly raised ride, that gives you a long flat boot and a quiet, properly finished cabin without putting you in yet another SUV. If you want estate space and an Audi badge but don't want the bulk and height of a Q5, this older-year Allroad is the value way to get there.

What the Allroad actually is

Think of it as an A4 Avant that's been lifted about 35mm and given standard quattro all-wheel drive, plus the rugged cladding around the arches. The point is a load-carrying wagon that grips well and rides a touch higher than a normal sedan, not an off-roader. Clearance is still car-like, so treat it as a tall estate, not a soft-roader. For Dubai that's the right read: it'll handle ramps, speed bumps and a graded track to a desert campsite, but the dunes are a Q5 or a proper 4x4 job.

The 2021 car uses Audi's 2.0-litre turbo four with 204 hp, an automatic gearbox, and quattro sending power to all four wheels. It reaches 100 km/h in about 7.3 seconds, which is brisk enough to merge onto Sheikh Zayed Road without drama and overtake at highway speed with margin to spare.

The boot, and whether your luggage fits

This is where the Allroad earns its keep. The load bay is 495 litres with the rear seats up, and it's a genuinely useful shape: long, flat, square at the sides, with a wide tailgate opening. Two large hard cases go in side by side with room left for soft bags, and a DXB or DWC airport run for a family of four with a week's luggage is easy rather than a game of Tetris. Drop the rear seats and the bay opens to roughly 1,495 litres, flat enough for flat-pack furniture or bikes. Most premium sedans can't touch this, and the wagon does it without the high load lip of an SUV, so heavy cases lift in at a kinder height.

Cabin, and how it copes with the heat

Inside, the Allroad is quiet and well built. Road and wind noise stay low at a steady 120 on the E11, which makes the long airport hauls and the run out to Abu Dhabi genuinely restful. The materials are a step above anything in the economy classes, and that's much of the reason to book it.

On cooling, this is a sealed, mid-size cabin with strong front vents and rear vents for the back seat, which matters in July when you've left it parked in the sun. It won't be arctic in the first thirty seconds, no car is, but it pulls a baking cabin down to comfortable within a couple of minutes and holds it there at 45°C. The back-seat vents mean kids aren't left to swelter while the front cools first.

Running it through a Dubai week

On fuel, the turbo four returns somewhere around 7.5 to 8.1 L/100km on a mixed week, and you'll see the worse end of that in stop-and-go city crawling, the better end on open highway. With a tank near 58 litres, that's comfortably a few hundred kilometres between fills, so for normal city-and-highway use you're looking at one refuel across a typical rental rather than constant petrol-station stops.

Parking takes a little thought. At 4,762mm long it's a sizeable car, longer than a typical sedan, so the tighter multi-storey bays and tight Marina ramps need a bit more care on the swing. The raised ride helps with speed bumps and steeper mall ramps, where a low sedan can scrape, but don't read the extra height as ground clearance for anything rough. Parking sensors and the reversing camera do the heavy lifting in tight bays.

A couple of operational notes, briefly. Salik tolls run on the renter's account, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, so mind the gantries and the speed limits. Seat belts are required in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which we can arrange.

Who should book it, and who shouldn't

Rent the A4 Allroad 2021 if you want one car that does the school run, the weekly haul and the airport drop in real comfort, with a premium cabin and quattro grip, and you'd rather have a long flat boot than an SUV's height. It's a niche choice in Dubai, where most renters default to a sedan or a crossover, and that's exactly its appeal if a wagon is what you actually want.

Look elsewhere in two cases. If you need commanding height, a tall driving position or any real ground clearance for soft sand and rougher tracks, size up to a Q5 or a proper 4x4. And if you simply want the cheapest comfortable way to move four people around the city and the extra boot doesn't matter to you, a standard A4 sedan or a class below will rent for less. For the buyer who specifically wants premium estate space without the SUV bulk, though, this is the car, and the older-year rate makes it the sensible way to get it.
