Want the Audi badge and a properly finished cabin without parking an A6 in a Marina basement? The Audi A4 2022 is the sedan that does it, and we bring one to your door in Dubai inside one to two hours. It's a compact executive saloon: the 2.0-litre 204 hp mild hybrid, front-wheel drive, five seats, the same switchgear and material quality you'd find further up the range. This page is about whether the A4 is the right size for your week here, or whether you should step up to an A6 for the back seats, or down to an A3 to spend less.
The A4 is the sweet spot for one or two people, or a couple with a child, who want the brand feel and a calm, well-damped drive without the length. At 4,762 mm long it slots into standard bays and tight multi-storey corners that an A6 makes you think twice about. The cabin is the real reason to book it. Tight panel gaps, a low-set dash, supportive seats, and the kind of road and wind isolation that makes a run out to Abu Dhabi feel shorter than it is.
What it isn't: a limousine. Three adults across the back is fine for a short hop and tight for an hour. If your trip is mostly four adults and you want everyone comfortable, the A6 earns its extra metal. If it's mostly you, errands, and the occasional airport run, the A4 is the smarter rent.

Four hundred and sixty litres is a genuine asset in this class, and the shape helps as much as the number. The opening is wide and the floor is flat, so it swallows two large hard cases plus a cabin bag without you playing Tetris. For a DXB or DWC pickup with a family of four and a week's luggage, that's the difference between everything in the boot and a case riding on someone's lap. If you're loading something bulky or oddly shaped, the rear seats fold, but for normal travel cases you won't need to.
This is the question that decides a summer rental, and the A4 handles it better than most. The compact cabin means there's less air to chill, and the climate system pulls a parked car down quickly once you're moving, with strong front vents and rear vents for back-seat passengers. Park in shade where you can, give it a couple of minutes before you set off in July, and the cabin is comfortable by the time you're out of the car park. It's the easy answer for anyone who's spent a summer fighting a weak budget-car AC.
The mild hybrid setup is honest, not a gimmick. It coasts with the engine off and smooths the stop-start, which shaves a little off real-world consumption in traffic. Audi quotes 6.1 to 7.0 L/100km combined, and in Dubai's mix of Sheikh Zayed Road cruising and stop-go you should plan around the higher end, call it the low sevens once the heat and the AC load are factored in. On a 54-litre tank that's roughly 700 km of mixed driving between fills, so a typical week of city errands and one longer trip is one fill-up, maybe a top-up. It takes 95-grade happily.
A few Dubai facts that aren't the car's doing but are yours to settle: Salik tolls run to your account, RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and belts are mandatory in every seat with a child seat for under-fours. None of it is unusual; it's just worth knowing it's on you, not us.
On the E11 the A4 is in its element. The 204 hp engine has enough in reserve for a confident overtake at 120, the gearbox kicks down cleanly, and high-speed stability is a class above anything in the economy bracket. Front-wheel drive is the only thing to flag if you were hoping for Quattro grip; on tarmac in Dubai you won't miss it, and this version keeps the rent lower than the all-wheel-drive cars.
Around town it's easy to place. The nose isn't long, the steering is light at parking speeds, and visibility is good. Marina ramps and mall speed bumps are taken at a sensible crawl, the same as any low saloon, so nothing scrapes if you're not charging them.
Rent the A4 if you're one or two people, or a small family, who want the Audi cabin and highway composure without A6 length or A6 money. It's the premium compact sedan that's genuinely easy to live with for a week in Dubai, and the boot is better than the badge-watchers expect.
Look at the A6 instead if four adults will spend real time in the back, or if you specifically want rear-seat space for clients. Drop to the A3 if you mostly drive solo, park in tight spots all day, and want the same brand feel for less. For most renters who land between those two, the A4 is the one we'd hand you the keys to.
