We hand over the Audi A3 2024 across Dubai with doorstep delivery in one to two hours, so the four-ring badge can be parked outside your building before you've finished your coffee. This is the freshest small Audi we keep on the desk, and it makes a clear case for itself: a screen-rich, properly finished cabin and a 201 hp turbo that feels quicker than the class average. The trade is space. If you want premium quality in a compact sedan and you're not hauling four adults plus airport cases every day, the A3 is the one to take. If you are, this page will tell you where to size up.
The 2024 car keeps the things that make an Audi feel like an Audi at this size. The cabin is the headline. You get a digital driver's display ahead of the wheel and a central touchscreen angled toward you, with crisp graphics and real menus rather than a budget afterthought. Material quality is a step above the mainstream compacts, and the doors shut with a weight that tells you what you're paying for.
Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre turbocharged four producing 201 hp, sent through a quick seven-speed automatic and quattro all-wheel drive. That matters in daily use more than the headline number. The car pulls cleanly from low revs, so slotting into a gap on Sheikh Zayed Road or finishing an overtake on the E11 happens without drama, and it settles into long airport runs quietly.
What it isn't is a big car pretending to be small. Up front it's roomy and the driving position is excellent. Behind that, things tighten.
Here's the honest read. Two adults in front and two kids behind works for a week of mall trips and school runs. Put a tall adult behind a tall driver and the rear gets snug fast, especially on a longer drive. The A3 sedan seats five on paper, but four adults for a DXB run with luggage is where it starts to feel borrowed from a smaller car.
The boot holds roughly 308 litres. That's one large hard case plus a soft bag, or two medium cases if you pack with intent. For a couple or a small family it's fine. For a full car heading to the airport with a week's worth of suitcases each, you'll be playing Tetris, and a sedan one size up solves it. The rear seats fold if you'd rather carry one passenger and more cargo.

Treat the table as reference. The numbers that change your week are the economy and the clearance, and both get a fuller read below.
Fuel is the easy part. With a roughly 55-litre tank and real-world consumption around 7.8 litres per 100km, a tank covers close to 700 km of mixed driving. A normal week of errands, a few highway runs and an airport trip means one fill, maybe a top-up before you hand it back. Push the turbo hard on open road and you'll see the pump more often.
Heat is the part renters ask about most. The A3's cabin is compact, which works in your favour at 45°C: the front vents are strong and the system pulls a parked, sun-baked interior down to comfortable inside a few minutes rather than the long wait a big cabin needs. Park in shade or a basement where you can and the cool-down is quicker still. Rear passengers get vents too, so kids in the back aren't left out.
Parking suits the car well. At under 4.5 metres it tucks into tight Marina bays and multi-storey slots that defeat larger sedans, and the reversing aids make the fiddly ones easy. The flip side is the modest 112 mm clearance. Aggressive speed bumps and steep mall ramps need a slow, square approach, and a fully loaded car wants more care still. It's a low, road-biased sedan, so keep it on tarmac and off soft sand.
A couple of operational notes the desk always flags. Salik tolls run on the car's tag and are billed to you, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to the renter, so mind the cameras on the E11. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, front and back.
Rent the A3 if you want a premium badge, a genuinely classy tech-led cabin and a refined turbo, and your typical load is one or two people with a case or two. For couples, solo business trips and small families doing city miles with the occasional highway stretch, it's one of the nicest compacts we hand over, and it parks where bigger cars can't.
Size up to an Audi A4 if you regularly carry four adults or need the bigger boot for airport runs. If clearance and rear space matter more to you than a low sleek sedan, a compact premium SUV like the Q3 is the smarter call. But if quality per square metre is the priority and outright space isn't, the 2024 A3 earns its keep.
