Want the four rings on your bonnet without the salary of an A4 or A6 owner. The Audi A3 2023 is the cheapest way into the badge, and we hand it over across Dubai to drivers from age 18, while most of the market won't rent a premium car to anyone under 21. It's a Standard-class sedan with a 1.5-litre engine, an automatic gearbox and 150 horsepower, sharp to drive and genuinely easy to live with in the city. This page is about who that suits. For one person or a couple it's close to ideal. For a full car of adults with airport luggage, the small boot and snug rear make the case for sizing up.
Think of the A3 as a small premium sedan that gets the important things right rather than throwing equipment at you. The cabin is tight, well finished and quiet at speed, and the 150 hp 1.5-litre pulls cleanly. It hits 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, which is brisker than anything you'd need for a school run and enough to merge onto Sheikh Zayed Road without a second thought. The automatic shifts smoothly in traffic, so the stop-and-go between Business Bay and the Marina never feels like work.
What you're paying the Audi premium for is the way it's built and the way it steers, not the size. This is a driver's compact, not a space machine.

The numbers worth reading twice are the boot and the economy. Everything else is reference.
The 425-litre boot is a real strength for a car this size, more useful than the hatchback version because the sedan's opening sits low and deep. For a couple flying in through DXB or DWC, two large hard cases go in flat with a cabin bag on top, and the rear seats fold if you've over-packed. A single traveller has more room than they'll ever use.
Where it gets honest is the back seat. Two adults are comfortable for a cross-city trip, but a third in the middle is a short-hop arrangement, and tall passengers behind a tall driver will ask how long the drive is. If you regularly carry four adults plus their bags, this is the point to look at an A4. The A3 will do it; it just won't make everyone happy on a long run to Abu Dhabi.
On paper the combined figure is about 5.6 litres per 100 km, which is excellent. Real Dubai driving with the AC fighting the heat and a lot of short stops lands higher, call it the low-to-mid 7s in mixed city use. Even so, the 50-litre tank means a full week of normal driving on one fill for most renters, and you're not hunting for a station every couple of days.
The AC is the part people underestimate. Park an A3 in open sun in July and the cabin is brutal for the first minute, same as any car here. The difference is the small, well-sealed cabin cools fast once you're moving, and the front vents hit hard. There are no rear vents to speak of, so a back-seat passenger waits a little longer for relief, which matters more if you're using it as a family car than as a couple's runabout.
A few operating facts settle the rest. Salik tolls run to your account as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during your rental are yours, so keep an eye on the speed limits on the E11. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, front and back.
This is where the A3 earns its keep over a bigger sedan. At under 4.5 metres it slots into tight multi-storey bays and the awkward half-spaces in older Marina towers without a three-point fight. The steering is light at low speed, the turning circle is tidy, and visibility out of the front is good. Mall ramps and speed bumps are a non-issue at sensible speed.
If your week is errands, brunch runs, the odd airport pickup and the daily commute, the size is the feature, not a compromise.
Rent the A3 2023 if you're a solo driver or a couple who want a premium car that's quick, quiet and painless to park, and you'd rather spend on the badge than on space you won't use. From age 18 it's also one of the few genuinely upmarket cars you can put on rent in Dubai before 21.
Pick something else if you're moving four adults and a week of luggage on a regular basis, or you want three across the back in comfort. Step up to an A4 for the rear room and the longer-trip ease, and leave the A3 to the people it's built for. We can deliver either to your door in one to two hours, so the only real decision is how much of the car you'll actually use.
