Want the four rings on your bonnet without an executive-saloon budget? We rent the Audi A3 2022 in Dubai, and it's about the cheapest honest way into a genuine Audi cabin. You get 250 km a day included, doorstep delivery, and a compact premium sedan that drives far better than its size suggests. The argument of this page is simple: for a couple or a solo driver who wants quality, badge, and a refined turbo over outright room, the A3 is the smart pick. If you need real rear space or a big boot, we'll point you elsewhere before you book.
The A3's appeal isn't the spec sheet, it's the feel. Audi put a properly finished cabin in their smallest sedan: soft materials where your hands land, a clean digital display, and a driving position that makes a one-week rental feel like your own car. The 1.5-litre turbo (the 35 TFSI) makes 150 horsepower, runs through an automatic gearbox, and reaches 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. That's brisk enough to make merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road effortless without ever feeling like a hot hatch. Most rivals in this bracket are mainstream cars dressed up. The A3 is the real thing, scaled down.

Park an A3 in open sun in July and the cabin will hit oven temperatures like anything else. What matters is the recovery, and here the smaller cabin works in your favour. There's less air to cool, so the front vents pull the temperature down quickly once you're moving, and five minutes with the fan up makes it comfortable. The dark interior trims do soak up heat, so a windscreen sunshade is worth the few seconds it takes when you park outside in 45 degrees. Rear passengers get their share, though on a packed back seat in peak summer the front occupants win first.
This is where the A3 earns its keep. At under 4.5 metres long it slots into tower bays and tight mall multi-storeys without the reversing drama a bigger sedan brings, and the light low-speed steering makes valet handovers painless. The flip side is ground clearance. The A3 sits low, the way a sporting sedan should, so steep mall ramps and the aggressive speed bumps in residential areas need a slow, careful approach. Take them straight and gently and you'll be fine. Rush them and you'll hear the front splitter complain.
Here's where you decide whether the A3 fits your trip. Up front it's excellent, easily good for two adults on long airport runs to DXB or DWC. The back is the catch. Two adults will sit there for a short hop across town, but on anything longer the legroom runs short, and a third person in the middle is a squeeze you'll regret.
The 425-litre boot is decent for the class and swallows two medium cases or one large suitcase plus a couple of soft bags. It's a clean, square shape, so it loads well. But if you're collecting four adults and their luggage from the airport, this isn't the car. That's the line: brilliant for one or two people who value the cabin, tight the moment you need to seat four properly or pack for a family.
The 50-litre tank and that efficient turbo mean you're not living at petrol stations. Expect around 6.5 litres per 100 km across the mix of city crawling and highway cruising most renters do, which works out to roughly 700 km of real range per fill. For a typical week of errands, dinners and a couple of longer drives, that's one fill-up, maybe two. On the open road the A3 is genuinely relaxed. At 120 on the E11 it sits quiet and planted, with enough in reserve for a confident overtake.
Salik tolls run on your account during the rental, and any RTA fines from the road cameras pass to you, so keep an eye on the limits on Sheikh Zayed Road. Seat belts are mandatory front and back. None of this is unusual, but it's worth knowing before you set off.
Rent the A3 2022 if you're a couple or driving solo and you want a premium car that feels special every time you get in, without paying executive money for it. It's the right call for city living, business trips, and weekend drives where the cabin and the badge matter more than back-seat room.
Skip it if you're regularly carrying three or four passengers or doing big airport luggage runs. For that, size up to an A4 for the same polish with proper rear space and a larger boot, or take a compact SUV like a Q3 if you want the Audi feel with more practicality and a higher seating position. But for the driver who wants the cheapest real Audi we keep on the fleet, the A3 is exactly that, and it doesn't feel like a compromise from behind the wheel.
