Getting the car and the handover

Inside the residential towers, expect valet. Most buildings on the trunk do not let you self-park, so the practical answer is to let the valet hold the car and pull it when you need it. This is the main reason delivery beats a depot pickup here. You are not hunting for a public bay with luggage in the heat.
If you want a free place to leave the car for a few hours, Nakheel Mall parking is free and central to the island. The View and the bays near it are paid. For a daily-use stay, factor the building valet into your plan rather than assuming street parking exists, because on most of the Palm it does not.
The route out and what it costs
There is one way off the island by car, down the trunk and out at the bottom near the Gateway. From there you join Sheikh Zayed Road. Heading toward the Marina and JBR is a short hop with no toll. Heading north toward Downtown or the airport, you cross the Al Safa Salik gate on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Salik is AED 6 at peak, which runs 06:00 to 10:00 and again 16:00 to 20:00, and AED 4 off-peak, with no charge between 01:00 and 06:00. Sundays and public holidays are a flat AED 4 all day. The toll is read automatically as you pass and passed on to you afterward at the same rate, never marked up and never held against a deposit. A normal day to Downtown and back is one crossing each way.
Plan around 35 minutes to Dubai International (DXB) in clear traffic, longer in the evening peak. The Marina is roughly 15 minutes. If your run is mostly inside the Palm and over to the Marina side, your Salik bill stays close to zero, which is worth knowing before you assume Dubai driving is all tolls.
