Our booking sheet shows a pattern: Giulietta rentals get extended more often than almost any hatchback we run. People take it for a weekend, drive it, and call to keep it for the week. When you rent an Alfa Romeo Giulietta in Dubai with us, unlimited mileage is included, so those extra days can cover as much road as you like. The pitch is straightforward. For the money of an ordinary compact, we bring you the hatchback with actual character: easy to park, cheap to run, better looking than the segment default. It's also an older design than the current crop, and we'll deal with that honestly below.
Parking and running costs, since that's the job
A hatchback rental in this city lives or dies on the boring stuff, so here it is. The Giulietta is about 4.35 metres long, which slots into the tight ramp-fed spaces at Marina towers and the older Deira multi-storeys where a mid-size SUV needs three attempts. The 1.4-litre turbo is light on fuel for city work, so a month of daily driving stays kind to the budget. Salik gates on your regular routes are the other running cost, and the fitted tag handles those for you.
Character at compact money
Park a Giulietta next to the usual rental hatchbacks and the difference needs no explaining. The Alfa nose, the hidden rear door handles and the stance give it the look of something a class up, and the cabin's deep-set dials carry the same mood. It drives with more personality too, with quick steering and a willing engine note the segment default can't offer. You're not paying luxury-car money for any of this. That's the whole argument: same errands, same parking spaces, a car you actually glance back at.
The age question, answered straight
The Giulietta ended production in 2020, so every example is an older design than a current Golf or the latest crossovers. In practice that means a smaller touchscreen, no wireless phone mirroring, and fewer driver aids than a 2024 car. What it doesn't mean is a compromised rental: the AC pulls the cabin down fast after a rooftop bake, the auto gearbox suits traffic, and our cars are maintained on the same schedule as the rest of the fleet. If you want the newest tech in the class, this isn't your car. If you want the most interesting one at this money, it is.
What unlimited mileage opens up
No mileage cap changes how you plan a small car's week. The Abu Dhabi day trip is about 140km each way, Hatta is roughly the same, and a loop through Sharjah and up the coast to Fujairah adds a few hundred more. In a capped rental you'd be doing arithmetic before each one. In the Giulietta you just go, because none of it costs you a fils extra in distance. It's a tarmac car throughout, happiest on highways and city streets, so keep the wadi tracks for a 4WD.
Who should rent something else
Two groups, honestly. Families of four with big luggage should look past the 350-litre boot, which handles a couple's cases but not a family's month. And anyone who wants the latest screens and semi-autonomous driver aids will be happier in a newer design. Everyone else, especially a solo renter or a couple who'd rather drive something with a pulse, should book the Giulietta and enjoy being the interesting car at the lights.
الأسئلة الشائعة — إجابات على الأسئلة المتكررة.
Is the Giulietta too old a design to rent now?
No, but it depends what you're renting for. Production ended in 2020, so the infotainment and driver aids trail a current-generation hatchback, and you should expect a smaller screen and cable-based phone connection. The parts that decide a Dubai rental still hold up: strong AC, an automatic gearbox, easy parking and low running costs. If the newest tech is the priority, pick a newer model, and if character per dirham is the priority, the Giulietta still wins.
Is the Giulietta automatic?
Yes, the Giuliettas we rent use Alfa's TCT twin-clutch automatic, so there's no manual shifting in Dubai traffic. It behaves like a normal automatic in daily driving, with slightly snappier shifts than a conventional torque-converter box. In slow car park creeping it can feel a touch less silky than a Japanese auto, which is normal for the gearbox type and nothing to worry about. Leave it in its standard mode and it just gets on with the job.
Does unlimited mileage on the Giulietta have a catch?
No cap, no daily allowance, no per-kilometre charge afterwards, that's the arrangement. Drive to Abu Dhabi every day of the rental if you want and the distance costs nothing extra. The usual rental terms still apply, meaning the car stays on paved roads and within the UAE unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. Fuel is yours to pay, and you return the car with the same level it arrived with.
Can I drive the Giulietta from Dubai to Oman?
Not by default, because the standard insurance covers the UAE only, and the Giulietta bookings we see rarely need more. If an Oman trip matters to you, ask before you book and we'll tell you whether cross-border cover can be arranged for your dates. Crossing without the right paperwork leaves you uninsured the moment you clear the border. Within the seven emirates, though, you're free to roam, and the unlimited mileage makes that worth doing.
How does the Giulietta cope with Dubai summer heat?
Fine, and better than its age might suggest. The climate control brings the cabin down quickly even after hours on an open-air car park in July, and it holds a set temperature on the highway without the fan roaring. The compact glass area helps, since there's less cabin to cool than in an SUV. Park under cover where you can, use a windscreen shade, and the car does the rest.
